I don't think predation should be such a difficult mechanic to implement, predators only target females of species of smaller class than themselves, and if you pick up a killed animal you could get the full medal, less predators would mean also a more controlled event, not like mountain lions in SRP that you are always in render of 3 of them, it was a mechanic that was implemented before it just needs tweaking so it's not punishing for the player
