bobcats are also worth a pretty penny here

low end is 40 bucks a pelt

western bobcats pull 100 each

tanned and taxidermy ready is 800 to 1000 per cat

with another 100 to 150 per skull

it turns out most of the furbearers that are still worth any money happen to be in Colorado

I've been keeping up with a bone collector subreddit, and I know a lot of people default to letting bones sit in a container of warm water to let the soft tissue get eaten up by microorganisms

I've heard people say to avoid boiling bc of how it breaks down fats that get trapped in the bone (smell moment) and can also affect the durability of the bone itself

ive specifically heard a lowish simmer with oxiclean detergent works great to basically make it gelatinous

and to do small game with the jaw on so the incisors dont fall out lmao

so you can remove the tendons and nerves at their base

so they dont well

rot inside the skull and make it reek/oily
