I start at 1230 at the yellow circled outpost, the first part of the river is slow for me, but the northeastern walk along the banks tends to heat up. Going a little further along the river might yield some good spots, but you'll also want to make it to all the ponds before the end of drink time.

What i love with this map is that everything tries to kill me. It is a challenge.

I am meditating at a stupa, calmly, and BANG three 1000 kg monster yaks runs over me and my doggie. A few minutes later an angry goat kick my butt. I teleport down south and within 50 meters from the teleport I arrive at a tiger jumps me. A few meters more and a herd of water buffalos smash me to death.

Hi, I have a shot but funny story for you. Yesterday a friend did the Tiger Trail quest, were you follow the trail. On the way he shot a smaller animal, while a tiger rawr could be heard in the background. I sayed "watch out for the tiger", be he replied "no .. this is just a sound playing to scare the player .. the quest is way longer." He kept inspecting the new animal she found cute. The moment, the exited the inspection screen, she was attacked by a tiger, but she managed to palce some 10 mm shots but k.o.ed. She went back to the place and found a dead tiger, after some tracing. She then said "The next quests should now be obsolete, now give me that new rifle."

I thing is was pure coincidence, the meet a tiger on the early tiger quests.

RL male tiger laying down next to female tiger. I would love to see this in game. With antler'd species you can visually immediately tell the difference in levels between two side by side animals, not so for non-antlered species.

Don’t think there are any other tigers, but you can find the tigers basically in the lower 2 regions of the map, just gotta check most lakes / run the river in that area during their drink time

Yes, predators can influence prey status. I've seen Tahr flee from the Snow Leopard and the Muntjacs, Barasingha and water buffalo flee from the tiger

there's the question of grinding them being OP since theyre gathered in one location at all times, but that can be combatted by moving their most active hours to dawn/dusk and night (like how they are irl). midday, they laze around in bushes
the fact that tigers can one shot you and lions don't just doesnt make sense. i wouldnt mind lions one-shotting, since it takes an idiot to get ambushed by one in the wide open savannah

pumas/mnt lions could behave more like snow leopards, where theyre more skittish and stay in high and dense altitudes as they usually do. they should also be a lot less vocal, and have the same spook range or hunting frequency as tigers

When the map first dropped I did have a buddy see 1 tiger on my map but when I went there I didn’t see it. We were together and it was there on his but not mine. So he shot it and another one respawned. I thought that was weird too

the animals all seem pretty well spread within the regions they live.
Tigers arent SO op that you die non-stop - I actually am about 50-50 on seeing them before they see me

some of the hard parts are: tigers and leopards aren't super populated, so hunting them is more difficult, but thats okay
