I place the lynxes, serval, caracal, clouded leopard, cheetah and mountain lion in the "category" Medium to large cats (in terms of weight)
of course, not by classification
In terms of weight I agree. I usually view cats in a taxonomic sense though
I graduated in 2018 with a B.S in Biology and Geology
good luck, we need more biologists
Gonna tackle temeletry and tracking this year
so.... Sundarpatan
- Northern Red Muntjac
- Tiger ?
- Peacock ?
Then i would say :
- Sambar
- Axis Deer
- Wild Boar
- Golden Jackal (?)
.... to be continued
Mugger Crocodrile, please
he gonna mug your kill, and hide it in the depths
The more I think about it it’s tigers
It really depends on where it’s based, because if it’s based on Nepal you could easily throw Tahr and Blue Sheep in there… Indian jungle…not so much.
If they are basing this reserve in a specific country, then its safe to rule India out, after all the proposal for reopening tiger hunting happened in Nepal
I'm so hyped for this, I got a migraine
In theHunter classic I think I read in the fandom lore that Polar bears which are vulnerable were originally hunted in Whiterime ridge (name of the reserve) because of population control or something like that and since the population increased you could freely hunt them. Maybe something similar for tigers?
Or maybe some disease that affects the tigers is the reason we can hunt them?
So someone fill my lazy azzzz in as to what has all been confirmed aboot the new map
Nepal? I read somewhere no idea what'll be on there but the boys are buzzin
so far a muntjac deer, some type of waterfowl and a hint towards a large cat
If we take Dhorpatan in Nepal as a base we would have
Red Muntjac
Rhesus Macaque
Wild Boar
Indian Leopard
Himalayan Beer
Sloth Beer
Himalayan Thar
Blue Sheep
Himalayan Goral
Birds:
Ruddy Shelduck
Mallard
Kalij Pheasant
Goose (greylag or Bar-headed goose or Indian Goose or some migratory)
No doubt hopefully some sheep/goat make a show as well
I was thinking the waterfowl in the teaser might be ruddy shelduck due to the calls sounding similar
Maybe like some of the cabela games we need tags? for the tigers?
Could be I remember that mechanic from the old Cabela's
I missed the bird talk, a bunch of those birds would be so cool
Already talked about the peacock but a lot of those others would be great fits as well
I rlly need to hunt more bird in game but some of them are so annoying 😂
Peacock, Tahr, Sambar, rocky mountain elk, javan rusa could be backfilled to NZ
Peacocks would force my hand to hunt as many good birds as possible tho
I say practice on the bigger ones and then work toward the smaller ones
The Peacock looks like a huge amount of visual lag
Melanistic
It’s mainly I hate finding them since they don’t have drink zones, I’ve done a bit of goose shooting on emerald coast which I found fun but had a few issues (they keep wanting to land right on top of me in my stand / they go to the other set up I have 400 yards away that’s barely in my render distance and it’s hella annoying)
waterbuffalo should be backfilled to emerald coast
I think just in the lodge is when the feathers can be spread out, which would help them make it actually look good
Like the hunter classic aussie map with bangteng AND water buffalo
And Te Awaroa should have tahr
yeah i mentioned it above
as well as sambar, rusa, peacock and rocky mountain elk
Yes, except peacock. Peacock hunting is very obscure here. Swap them for wallabies, also add whitetail
Thar could also be added to Parque
Turkey is also very obscure...they obv added that cause it was easy
There are tahr in SA?
I don't think Parque is really designed for tahr though. Not mountainous enough
Yes, it was introduced in patagonia to add it to hunting reserves
This map had better have tahr in a Himalayas section....
Not sure if pictures are allowed but saw this in the reddit and wanted to share.
Imagine these are the fur types if we get a tiger.
Whitetails just on stewart island tho
Oh someone posted that earlier way up I was looking for it to show someone LOL thanks!
We were talking the coats earlier and yeah I’d love to see those show up as rares
Same!
And if the tiger is the GO then the Maltese coat as well for that
They're on the South Island in pockets as well
Was just about to say that! A tiger G1 would be crazy.
It would be!!
Forget tigers, add tahr
Both :)
Tahr are great too!
If they don't add tahr, I won't leave them alone
Like I want both tigers and jaguar as well…the more the merrier to me
I’m fine with any new animals tbh.
Tbh. Tigers will be more fun. Predator hunting is amazing
I just want more diversity in the lodge.
But I'll still be angry if no tahr
They should make a mount with a tiger and mountain lion.
Unrealistic but would be sickkk.
Tiger vs bear
Makes more sense tbh.
Could be any bear species. I’m pretty sure Nepal has a couple. Sloth bears are my personal favorite.
Those ones fight tigers sometimes
Bears are my favorite animals in the game so I hope for another species. Black bear is the only animal I have completed. I have a diamond in every fur type.
Before they made the furs rare rather than uncommon?
If they add sloth bears I hope they do their standing pose most of the time.
I’d take both the asiatic black bear and the sloth bear
Same.
They’re both pretty unique looking bears
I wonder what kind of annoying birds they'll add
They’re all mostly recent so yes.
Hoping for bar-headed geese but not a huge bird hunter so idrc.
I’d love any of the birds they where talking about up here
Fake SRs 🤣
I don't like watefowl and geese hunting
agreed
What do you think???
SRP is like the only map I play tbh.
Easy hunting and has my favorite species.
Black bears are like the only animals I can grind successfully. I have a fallow grind up right now too that I just started 3 days ago.
wallabies and dingoes should be backfilled to emerald coast and wallabies can also be in NZ
Yeah I’m hoping for some backfilling.
If you can grind bears, all the others are easier
True. Bears are definitely the hardest G1 to grind.
Iguanas and Nutria in Missipipi?
Maybe blowguns and slingshots
Or BB guns and small game air rifles
Fallow and red deer are easiest. Moose are meh imo. I never grind them tho. I’m hoping this next G1 will be somewhat difficult because after I finish my fallow grind I need to try to grind the next G1 and I want that to take a long time.
What are you talking about man?
Guns that can be added
I don't grind. It's torture
Hoping the next G1 is good. If it’s a big cat species, elk, or mule deer, I’m grinding all day and night.
If it’s something else I’m not gonna grind it.
I’ll just wait till I get really bored of another G1.
when you put a leopard call up against a tiger roar it makes it more in favor of it sounding like the tiger
if you would put a leopard roar instead of call it would be more comparable and harder to tell
That is a leopard roar. I just put multiple in a row so it’s easier to hear the pitch changes and tones.
still sound like a Leopard for me
https://quicksounds.com/library/sounds/leopard
yes but sawing is used more as a territorial call
I would love to see a tiger in the game! 😄
damn thats crazy just woke up and see this stuff
What if the map is set in cambodja seems more tiger leopard country than nepal
Muntjac slso live there and us more Jungle
I’m pretty sure that’s what most roars are used for.
the tigers roar in the video is more of an aggressive roar
i guess what i'm trying to say is your comparing two different types of roars
using a tigers call like this to compare the a leopards sawing would be more accurate
with all that being said though i do think the roaring in the video sounds more tiger like
but then again it does sound more high pitched than most of the other tiger roars i can find
Cambodia also far fewer tigers and leopards in Cambodia then there is in Nepal, which still has tropical forest in the lowlands
I have no doubt that it is Nepal
The mountain behind certainly looks like the Machapuchare peak of central Nepal
It’s 100% Nepal, just the look of that screenshot and Sundarpatan having a very similar name to Nepals real life hunting reserve Dhorpatan has fully convinced me.
Just hope we are getting leopards rather than tigers.
My main hope is for a large patch of the map to be hills and mountains, tiger or leopard or none to me is fine!
Snow leopard would be the best of all
Was just going to say that, I’m really hoping for proper mountain hunting with this reserve. I’d rather not have unrealistic species but I’d be pumped for blue sheep and thar.
I should say unauthentic species, realistically tigers and snow leopards do live in this habitat.
And by mountains, I mean rocky, snowy mountains, not green grassy hills with bushes. We have plenty of grasslands and dense tree areas, but the closest thing to a proper mountain terrain we have is the northern part of Revontuli, mountainous tundra. I would love something like this:
Here’s hoping. Some actual climbing mechanics would be cool af in a hunting game. Would really make goat and sheep hunting incredibly exciting.
It would be really awesome! I doubt there will be climbing mechanics, but I would absolutely love to see blue sheep on very steep cliffs
Remember once you said "I have no doubt it's UK" lol ... tho honestly I feel a UK map is upon us sooner or later
Would love a Scotland highlands map, but would love even more a Mongolian or Kazakhstan map
Now we have solid clues xD
Seeing as rhododendrons are Nepal's national flower, it pretty much confirms that the next map is Nepal. Or at the very least, it is heavily inspired by that part of Asia and the location is vague like Vurhonga: https://worldsensorium.com/nepal/
I just hope it really is Tiger, cause if that's the case, we sure are getting Jaguars on https://discord.com/channels/393040947006406657/1207357430963507281
If it is tigers then that's huge because just about any animal will be up consideration. As long as it is local and they can create a a workable hunting backstory.
this is true
elephants would be so feasable if it's a tiger
and just last week i was complaining about the whole "no endangered species" thing
If you're referring to Nganadong, that species is extinct and has been extinct for longer than the Thylacine (Tasmanian tiger) if I recall correctly
nah im talkin bout the bengal
Hm, I cant remember if Siberian tigers are bigger on average
Maybe?
but hey
So true
dont they have elephants in nepal
yes i believe so but we won't get them
there's a slim chance they'd do it even with the year long hiatus
tigers and elephants in a single drop would be the most legendary wombo combo
not until we get a new lodge at least
Yeah they have Asiatic elephants
there is no lodge currently that would be big enough for them
you do realize how massive an elephant is right?
lol
there is nothing in seseka that would be big enough to put an elephant on
Some of the largest moose out there are just a foot shorter than an asiatic elephant if I recall correctly. So maybe an elephant isnt too far-fetched
Maybe not a LARGE individual but like, at least an average elephant
yes but think of the overall size not just height
moose take up pretty much all of the biggest platforms we have current
Maybe they will add some biiger plates and lodge?
we would have to get a new lodge before we'd get elephants
in the future maybe
but it won't happen this update
Elephants are coming. May not be for a while but we'll eventually get them.
bit of an overexaggeration
you could easily fit one under saseka's roof
all they'd need to do is make a new mount
they would have to alter seseka
which they won't do
slightly bigger square mount (3 months of work)
it's a paid dlc that they're not going to change
because there is literally no plaque or platform that they could fit on?????
Bruh would be nice to add a lot more mounts
moose alone take up even the biggest ones we have currently
let's not be delusional just because we want elephants lol
and besides i believe it's already been said there is no change happening with the lodges this update
the amount of work that it would take to do that is pathetic
I mean they coul make a surprize
to make a new platform
i believe jaxy has already stated too that part of the reasons elephants aren't added yet is because of the lodge restrictions
hm
what like the platforms?
or is it just the lodge
cuz if it's the lodge then thats fair
both probably?
fair enough
you said jaxy already stated
because he has i'm pretty sure
right
i can't remember which stream it was but it would of been a few months ago
Good morning everybody
do we think it’s possible that sundarpatan could drop before late june?
Nope I think between June 20 and 28 is a good time to be ready but who knows
That's still only a month
i say the 18th-20th
someone just said its confirmed the new GO is exclusive to sundarpatan (not just not base game) is this true? cant find a source
highly unlikely
Who tf said that
nothing to my knowledge has been said about this
someone in a twitch chat, it was probably just them misunderstanding the not base game thing
but i wanted to check
June 18, 25 or juli 2 are the 3 most likely dates with the maps always releasing on Tuesday
last year we got the trailer and then a release date 2 weeks later with the map releasing just a little under 2 weeks after that
from what i’ve gathered maps seem to release 4 week so pretty much a month after a teaser trailer
Haven't heard that from EW so I wouldn't take that person as gospel
i only asked if we thought it could possibly be sooner since they took a year on it
My guess is last week and a half of June
gosh i need snow leopards on this reserve
possible but i think it’s unlikely
EW should just say screw it let’s just do endangered animals for the fans because it would open up the door for so much more and your not actually shooting the animals so
They need to keep it realistic
It's always on a Tuesday so the 18 and 25 seem to be most likely
My gurl this game has like 100 European bison if not more on one map In an area that barely has a dozen wild bison also who tf goes to a lake and finds like 3 herds of deer and blasts too of each of them
Have you seen a fallow deer with an Irish elk rack in the wild?
i only say the 20th because of last year
usually most things are on a tuesday but we got a teaser on a wednesday so maybe it’s possible
Streams and releases are always on Tuesdays while teasers can be at any day
i’m just basing it off of the past few
they’ve seemed to be usually also on tuesday or thursday
i think it’ll probably be the 18th though
Unless EW said that, I'd ignore it
Tuesdays are good for em because they can stream the same day
true
Is sundarpatan an Indian name or could it be Nepalese?
from what i’ve gathered though most of the time when they release a teaser it seems to be around 3-4 weeks until release
some of them were even shorter than that though
some were also longer like rev
but they learned to not do that because it kills hype and stuff
Nepal seems to be most likely, Sundarpatan is either nepali or Hindi both languages are spoken in nepal
Sure hope so. It would be a missed opportunity to not include the Himalayas
We already saw flowers endemic to the Himalayas so the Himalayas are a thing
Tiger time
Read into this what you will, but on the Tuesday stream Jaxy made a pretty definitive statement about the GO. Check out the 45:50 mark in the video.
https://www.youtube.com/live/EH1w1FtAW5s?si=XUSAaPK56JPW54cW
Oh wow. Someone has done their research
You can also see how much more cooler and Much Autumny this looks so we can expect the map to have higher elevations and more cool biomes as we get further north
Hopefully its got some alpine areas to explore too
Credits to this find go to @ebon gate : )
Very likely with a Himalayan map
Look at the thumbnail for the teaser.
does seem a little interesting with the way he worded it
Already heard it wasn't a base map GO. Probably present on the new map as well as expected. Could be water buffalo or axis deer
I hate how all the comments hate on ew as they say a map should never take this long and that the management should be fired
I say feral pig
I do feel they need to start thinking about upgrading the engine or prting to current consoles
Wdym by that the game is available on current consoles
Native p5 version
The engine would need an update one day but I think that would mean everyone looses they're saves
Also it's bad for PS4 players who give ew s good chunk of they're money
has this animal been seen here before?
The bums commenting should go play something else then. Why do people want a rushed and inferior product? The quality of EC was plain to see with the extra dev time
if theres tigers im prolly finna grind for a rare
Maybe
super rare white tiger is easily going to be the most ridiculous trophy in the game
and it's going to happen
nah knowing my luck i cant get no sr
i got a super rare pig a couple months ago
i don't think i'm going to peak any higher than it
i am comically unlucky
Or a golden jackal
How did u put that crosshair?
settings
Sounded like you started choking..
Is there anymore news about sundar since the teaser trailer yesterday?
albino but pink
fly flew into my mouth
cant believe thats my only super rare
they're rare
but like
man
i wish i had another one
Predator SRs go hard
they go crazy
I have nearly 4000 hours and only 3 so they are very rare
- That's crazy
and i thought my 1500 on tf2 was bragworthy
A super rare in that low time is pretty good
hopefully
It is. I have 2 over 2300 hrs
do you not use hm then or?
or do you not grind much
nice
maybe i’m just lucky with amount of supers i’ve gotten in comparison to time
I also don't grind GOs, so quite lucky
Noon not really I don't grind that much I'm trying to get all rares and diamonds dorm EC currently I still need some so I got 2 of the EC super rares pieblad red and fallow deer plus a Euro rabbit superrare
I only have one as I said I'm not a big go grinder
I'm more they're for the rares
craziest thing is i shot this on a multiplayer and i had to hit it running cuz my multiplayer games disconnect often
i have 5 srs and 3 super trolls
Nice. I can't tolerate grinding
in 1900 hours
That's super lucky also albino wild hogs are very rare
How much spent on grinding GOs?
lots and lots lol
Ive gotten 3 pinks before an albino
thats fun to know
why are they so rare
And the diamonds aren't super common either
Some rares are just rarer then others
enough to have 22 of them
mostly thanks to bears though
i have 10 bear GOs and am going for 11
hoping it will be a cream or chestnut cause those are the only 2 i don’t have
Also look at this tiger logo @round birch Poster it's very cool
I grinded for bears a bit but after 1700 kills I couldn't bear it anymore and started hunting chamois and crocodiles instead
Goes to show that GOs are more common than SRs
easily
Pun intended
Yes
my first two bears were very long grinds
the first was around 4500-4700
second was like 3400 if i remember right
What are your SRs?
and then up until my last grind and current grind i had a bunch of really short ones
I tried to get a Greta one fallow but after more them 5k kills with herd Management I couldn't anymore
Euro rabbit?! I had a hell of a time just getting a diamond
When I think about it I did do some grinding but the majority of time I just run and gun
i think fallow are the only GO species apart from reds i don’t have a sr of?
in fact i only got like 2 rares in my red deer grind
I had to burrows that had crazy amounts on te awaroa that were 300m apart so I just was running from one to the other shooting and going back
Super effective
My warrens kept disappearing
Hard to grind
I have at least 4 mela red deer and 20 pieblads still no go tho I stopped grinding them over a year ago
i ended up botching both unfortunately
I got it after less then 500 kills so it was very easy and super lucky
had an 8 piebald that got spine shot because gun shot high
Hate the damn things
I wish we had more burrow animals like groundhogs, marmots and pikas
and then the mela i blasted with the 300 because i couldn’t tell because of lighting
Although I've shot a melanistic rabbit in real life before
Wow that's wild
What kind of rabbit
Euro rabbit. Some parts of the country there are thousands upon thousands and the rare colours come out
Is there actually any species of big cat that can be legally hunted in Nepal?
indian leopard i believe
Any of them no doubt if they become man eaters
One rabbit was the only meat I've eaten in like 5 years
Leopard
To put it in perspective, I've shot 200 off two properties in the problem region within a few months. I used to know where a mela one was but it's a public place and good luck shooting there
Ah thanks
I don’t think the roar we heard in the teaser could be them both snow leopard and clouded leopards make a chirp like sound
Cool animal. Hunts goat type species in steep terrain
No I mean would you like it on the map
If it's tigers, they're definitely going to be aggressive. Lions are timid compared
On the map I hope they there but I wouldn’t get my hopes up
And then hopefully people don't complain
They'll always complain
It's not possible for them to not complain
They should be ignored. Tigers are very aggressive to humans
They will either complain they too aggressive or not aggressive enough
They should be as they are in real life. No argument
Agreed
They'll complain that tigers are in-game if they come
They will complain that the new map isn't Africa 2.0 and doesn't have 40 new big game animals
They seemed alright with lions
Probably
Those are hunted a bit more
I would've liked Africa 2. But this one looks mint
Yeah and instead tigers hunt people a bit more 🤣
They said on a live stream awhile ago that Africa 2 would probably be their last map
Mint?
good
Awesome, cool, great
They said that Africa two isn't coming for the next 3 reserves
I thought they said on last stream awhile ago when it did come they couldn’t top it so it might be the last map
australia moment
Depends on the area in Africa two I mean this one https://discord.com/channels/393040947006406657/1209221137905487902 is completely different from this one https://discord.com/channels/393040947006406657/1132780319058174073
With completely different animals
So I see a lot of potential in Africa but other continents have cool stuff to
I didn’t even think of a small game African map
Oh please we need African small gamd
That would be a nice map
The first one?
Yes
I visited the region once it's absolutely beautiful theyre
lord please let the tigers not bolt to the other side of asia the moment they hear a leaf crunch like the lions do
i really hope the predators in this game get a rework with this tiger
I do too
Better have the top right. Those are only nannies though
I’d say it is I’ve always wanted to visit Africa I will one day
Especially when lynxes scare away meese from hundreds ofbmeters
NZ
The culture of the region is more Spanish at it has been a Spanish colonie since hundreds of years ago
Very invasive
I think they're summer coat I mean when winter coat isn't possible they can do the summer coat
mmm yum yum blue sheep
Didn’t know that
also yum yum great one feral pig
Those would be a pain to grind
but they will happen
Doubt it
what else would it be
I could see it being axis deer
the main pattern with great ones is that they have to be on a free map
or at least the pattern i've noticed
so anything that isn't on layton or hirsch is a no go
They said this one will not be on Hirsch or layton
And it will be rather unexpected
oh thank god
Indeed. They look to me to be a little small though
Also feral pigs are not on either of those
yum yum great one goose
This one is a bull asswell
They could be. Hard to tell from the first picture. Always easier actually seeing them. Also not seen a bull in full summer coat
My pfp is of a bull late autumn
Cool
It was easy to tell the nannies and that big boy apart
I wouldn't care the meat is supposed to be very good I would also be very happy if I got my hands on a chamois
As long as it isn't bull meat. Yeah, got a few chamois..females though. Want a buck at some point
Then I would wanna shoot a female even more
I don't eat goat species myself normally. It's also very hard usually to walk it out
Why you hunt it then
Pest control or sometimes trophy hunting
I didn't eat goat they're myself as I haven't eaten meat since my childhood besides one invasive rabbit but my dad says Canary goat is very good
True
I eat deer and pig, but I don't eat stuff that smells feral. Goat is like that
In Germany or Sweden you'd be killed for not using every part of the animals from tongue, to liver and testies, bown for stock and offcouse the red meat
Always found it funny when people are like that. Just make some effort and it's all good
Old clothes was a common dish they're were the meat is made using goat
Here in the U.S we have charity’s where you can donate the meat of the animal you hunt if you don’t want it and they fix it for the homeless and hungry
It's common in this country to sometimes not take what you shoot cause of the massive pest problem
I think it's because you're taking the life of an animal and it is seen as disrespectful to the animal you killed that you don't take everything
Often the meat is sold in Sweden and Germany
Ah yeah, the government and landowners are way past that way of thinking here
I saw a guy selling brown bear meat a few days ago that was wild when you think about that such a low amount of them is hunted every year here
We're also not allowed to sell wild animal meat here
Some ministry of primary industies legislation
I looked it up less then 200 bears are hunted annualy
meanwhile me on Revontuli:
Wait where comes all the new Zealand deer meat you can buy in Germany from
Isn't he beatiful?
Farmed deer meat
Oh
They used to sell wild meat back in the 70s
I always thought you hunted them because they are a pest that's so dumb
In australia you can sell game meat i think
In Germany all the meat you buy is either hunted or imported from Australia and new Zealand
That's the main reason yes. Still good eating
We got some restaurants in Berlin who sell wild Australia Kangaroo meat
nice i haven't eaten roo yet
I haven't either
Well I’ll talk to you all later I’m going to go to bed it’s 3:30 in the morning here
The govt is dropping more 1080 poison cause deer numbers are getting high. If that's not wasteful idk what is
GO TO SLEEP MR ZOMBIE 💀
I tried cow, fish stick, herring, pig, goat, sheep and rabbit that'd it
nice
I want to hunt but aussie laws on guns are sooo strict
I think doves I by far the easiest around here
Same in sweden
Yesterday was my last day of school for the year so I started grinding moose again tonight
Any new news
Nope not since yesterdays teaser
Dang
We still have 2-3 weeks and then 10 weeks rest
my parents would kill me if i stayed awake until 3.30
Why? You have lots of pests
I will go to Germany for over a month so that will be fun
Yeah but we had some shootings in the past and we changed the laws
I do that on a daily basis before scool 😭
NZ did that too. But it's still not too bad
been like that for years
Mine don’t care about that as long as I’m passing my classes I can pretty much do whatever
lucky
I know
I get 90s and nobody cares
Some demented Aussie had a shoot up here a few years back
ik i wish de@th p3nalty was still around
I bet it just was a bunch of magpies under a trenchcoat
What?
There's 4 category gun licenses in victoria
Kinds wish they dropped the teaser Friday
Like 30 magpies in a trenchcoat
Y
Then we wouldn't have to wait 6 days
category d licenses are for lever actions, semi auto shotguns and rifles with more than 10 bullets in a magazine
You have to be 18 to get guns and to do hunting in sweden
Can send those back to Australia as well
too many shoot them lol
Are magpies legal game in the land down under?
no
I swear
They even are in Sweden 😭 but not they're were they basically have formed they're own army
Heh, they are here
You can hunt them in europe
and new zealand
as well as crows\
but aussie magpies are not corvids
Too true. Damn things
Tiger backfill to medved
or leopard backfill for vurhonga
I said tiger they do often not care about subspecies
there's this aussie game coming in 2025 i found on my tik tok fyp called pie in sky. Any guesses what it;s about?
You play as a magpie in first person harassing kids?
Hahaha
i mean, we have turkeys being differentiated so i think tigers would to
Some biologists hate subspecies classifications
Why do we have no desert bighorn then
no idea
They are not turkey subspecies i think
Oooooo
Polar bears in canada arctic and seals
yes but thats mainly based on how we recognise them not of the idea of it
golden has got to be the rarest one if they add it
they look absolutely mental
real life japanese folklore creature
i have seen that 20 times already 😭
lol
if they just give us a white tiger im rioting
across youtube, reddit and discord
It's based on poor evidence
that depends
On what? Someone here made a good argument against subspecies classifications
If the guy who made that chart had a dollar for each time some used it he'd be RICH
on how clear the difference is and how isolated the populations are
the tiger one
what do you whink about wolf as great one
that would be cool
like with scars and stuff
this screen shot gives me feeling that it might be
or a brown bear or grizzly
yeee, and fur
looks like a dhole
Often it's not clear at all
it may also be the
or a indian jackal
true but not always
looks brown like a jackal or dhole
siberian tigers are one of those pretty clear cases
That's the issue some biologists grumble about apparently
My take is it's a group of pixels
lion would have a mane and are only found in one national park in west india
gir forest
it does have legs like a wolf/jackal/dholw
They're not real nothing im taxonomy is but I just hate how little information they're is about them in most species
the grain on that photo is so funny
how many times has that been reposted
What if it's a tree
himalayan black bears/ sloth bears
and like a person pointed out the flowers in the photo are found in himalayans
It's a clump of pixels. People have buck fever cotw style
ye theres lots of cases where it gets confusing but siberian tigers arent one of those
jurassic world evolution dilo vibes
Nepalese sinder rifle is a muzzleloader... it think it should be added
lol I play that too
I wonder if the EW staff and youtubers are viewing your messages?
i dont think so
I meant our lol but also yours
Well they should know that we are onto their evil plots
Upland game birds I would be happy to see, sadly not all of them are gonna make it off course
Rufous-throated Partridge
Hill partridge
Blood pheasant
Snow partridge
Tibetan patridge
Satyr trogopan
Tibetan snowcock
Himalayan snocock
Asian blue quail
Himalayan monal
Red junglefowl
Black francolin
Kalij pheasant
Indian peafowl
Eurasian woodcock
.
Same for Waterfowl
Ferruginous duck
Bar headed goose
Indian spot billed duck
Red crested Pochard
Cotton Pygmy goose
African comb duck
I WILL CRY IF THERE IS NO PEACOCK/FOWL
To the mammals I'd like to see
Even toed ungulates
Blue sheep
Argali
Tahr
Goral
Nilgai
Blackbuck
Hog deer
Axis deer
Barasingha
Muntjac
Gaur
Carnivors
Golden jackal
Bengal tiger
Asiatic Leopard
Snowy leopard
Marbled polecat
Honey badger
Others
Hispid hare
We will have very different biomes so I think what we could do is that this map took so long they got different species of birds for every biome and like 5 biomes
Carnivores could also have Dhole, Jackal and/or himalyan wolf
jackal and wolf I think are game
idk about dhole
Dovelikes that live on the ground I would like
Red turtle dove
Oriental turtle dove
Snow Pidgeons
Grey caped emerald dove
Loughing dove and eastern spotted dove would be great for the jungle
I don't think they really care about legality with this map
Yak, gharials, tigers, red pandas might be in the game then
i hope so
They said it
gharials would be pretty cool
goofy mfers
Red pandas are unlikely I would think all others off those have higher chances tho I think yak and tiger are way more likely
didn't they originally for all maps thjat animals have to be game?
might be about money now lol
or they are just tryna be fun
ye but my guess is that they realised they are making a video game
Originally, but jaxy said that the new team is way more open about non game species if they would still feel like game and would improve the game
Then they shall backfilled koalas, wombats, platypus to australia haha
Might sound weird but maybe a new game where you are a poacher
They don't feel very gamy
Oh hell nah
call of the ivory trade
Call of the last black rhino
So you have to smuggle the ivory and rhino horn to southeast Asia after shooting that would actually be fun
ThePoacher: call of the Smuggler
ThePoacher: call of the Chinese medicine
☠️
ye and a capture mechanic so you can sell animals in the illegal pet trade
or a game set in the early 1900's and we can get the cool animals
The sequel to The angler:the great finning
nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that's wil
wild
Monke not free anymore
$5,000 for the monke take it or leave it
or in the ice age and it could be a simulator of how we made all the mega fauna go extinct
yeah but with machine guns
Irish elk?
Or we are nestlé and burn down the Indonesian rain forest for palmoil
Nahhhhhh that's crazy
dont forget monopolising water in poor african countries
TheNestlé:the forest on fire
TheNestlé 2:the formula scream 💀
Instead of class 9
imagine if a company made that
rockstar games
TheNestlé: call of the wildfire
I wish minecraft had a trophy system
I wish Zelda had that
Maybe take trophies from animals you hunt in minecraft and tag peta in a pic
What if a peta worker played this game?
Peta people are crazy and I say that as basically a vegan
damn
i was vegatrian for my first 10 years in life before i was bored
my dad ate meat anyways
well eata
eats
I only eat wild shot game animals and what I myself fish but I don't dmget either of those often so I spend years just being vegan without eating animals once
I `want a 22.250, 17 hmr, and .223 when i get a licsence
4 upland species for the mountains
Partridge type birds
Snowcock, tibetan ans Himalayan also they'res monal and snow patridge
4 jungle type upland birds
Water buffalo
speaking of buffalo i just shot my first diamond a cape buffalo at level 27
and
there;s another 9 legendary on my map but it's estimate is 152 max so it's probaly a troll
Maybe they'll have chukor
I see two wolves/jackals,dholes
Chuckar could be easily included on another map so I didn't include them in my wishlist
Can't say I'm terribly excited for birds anyway
Is there a release date?
No but 18yh or 25th of June seem likely dates
Dam that’s ages
Yeah me too I love upland bird hunting
Official full announcement is next stream right?
Propably
Golden pheasants are not in Nepal, aleo we have a lot of other cool upland game just syaing
they are almost everywhere near china
No? They are endemic
they are not in nepal, as the website you cited is a stock image that is not even a picture of the golden pheasant
while they may have eventually wandered into nepal, it would very much be on the border to china
That’s a regular pheasant
Yes
It is found in central China hundreds of kilometers to the next country
okok
Chance for a new bear species to ?
Maybe sloth bear or asiatic black bear? Lesser so sun bear?
Asiatic black bear and sloth bear
this would be so cool
If it’s a tiger have a multi mount with 3 axis and the tiger chasing them
Or tiger and water buffalo
That would be cool, or a tiger, lion ,and a bear.
We NEED axis multimounts
I feel like we are going to get a crap ton of new stuff in this update, it could easily be the biggest ever
For all those being detailed about national borders, anyone considering that this might be set in a more nondescript "reserve in the Himalayan region" so as to avoid a whole bunch of imaginable issues?
they usually designate a reserves geographic location on the global map
But more often they refer to regions rather than nations.
Tmk all the maps are the same "size"
I think it is inspired by Dhorpatan region and central Nepal to avoid those problems
That's interesting. Seems the smartest.
That's tiger territory 😃
Something like Vurhonga perhaps. It would give them more options.
right. Even Layton and New England is hard to pin down.
Not going to lie, I've got seriously high expectations for this map. And I also want to see some fundamental QOL improvements across the entire game.
im not expecting much more then a map, a new great one, some new skins and maybe a new gun
It def builds up when it's almost a year since the last one.
you would expect so but ive seen that happen with so many games and it almost always ends in disappointment
low expectations are key to not being dissapointed 😉
You are wise not to burst in anticipation. But I'm certain the good EW folk try to give it a good go.
yup ive played ark for long enough to learn that
oh ye im still excited for the new map they have a great track record with their dlcs but im just not expecting any major other things
iirc they did announce some QoL updates right?
no qol yet
I just hope it doesn't have a review bombing in case they don't add Tigres, as happened with Vurhonga
just reserve name and nex G1 is not on a starter map
ok, maybe i'm misrembering
The shouldn't have added a tiger roar then
Fixing the constant catcalling was mentioned
LOL. I probably should have said 'requiring' rather than 'expecting', 😂
could be a leopard
well the teaser was either for tigers or leopards and the roar sounded way more like a tiger to me
The roar was full Jungle Book
90% want tiger ... dont think they would tease with tiger and give us leopard .... that would P off lots
I agree, it is something too ambiguous, I still believe it is a Leopard roar
yes, but i also just dont think they would tease it like this if it was a leopard instead of a tiger
God, I hope so. SRP an Parque are unplayable for me.
i do agree that they're effectively shooting themselves in the foot if they don't release a tiger when they added a roar like thaat
Maybe but I’m leaning more towards a Tiger,
1: it sounded more tiger like
2: tigers are if I’m not mistaken, the most requested Asian animal
3: Would not be a smart move to not feature them after adding that roar
just set the time to a time when mtn lions/pumas aren't feeding and you're good. (i too really, really hate the catcalling)
Good tip but we shouldn't have to do that though.
agreed
And
4: not the first time we’ve had endangered animals be Huntable in the game, plus Tigers would definitely be the “Big Animal” that would help EW!
-and allowing Jaxy to say that the old sensitive concerns is no longer keeping things off the table..
New team = new road maps. 👍
5: tigers are just a cooler and more popular species so making a special teaser for them would make more sense then it would for leopards
New team???
if tigers are comming, i do wonder how they're going to hunt us
I suspect highly aggressive
It's not the same team that launched the game. According to the live stream discussions. As I understood it though.
i hope they ad stalking mechanics for it but im guessing its just gonna be like wolves, where they slowly approach you and then start attacking eventough a tiger prob wouldnt do that irl
Like wqolves and Lions I'm guessing
i do think it will be different than wolves tbh
i rly hope so but i dont know how willing they are to put that much work into it
with wolves you have to face a pack coming from different directions
6 months extra time ;p
I really don't think they will add the most protected animal in the entire country and in all of Asia, currently this is the punishment for hunting tigers in Nepal .
The GoN has listed the tiger as a protected species under
the National Parks and Wildlife Conservation (NPWC)
Act 1973. Nepal Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan
NBSAP (2014-2020) had prescribed priority actions
to conserve endangered species like the tiger. Nepal
has adequate legal instruments to zero in on wildlife
crime control. The NPWC Act, 1973 has a provision of
NPR 500,000 to 1,000,000 fi ne and/or 5 to 15 years'
imprisonment for both the off enders and accomplices
involved in an illegal killing/trade of a tiger.
https://dnpwc.gov.np/media/publication/Final_Tiger_Conservation_Action_Plan_2023.indd.pdf
so more like lions
lions don't really attack unless you're super close no?
i rly hope its not like lions bc ive literally never been attacked by them
i'm not a big vurhonga hunter, so not really familiar with their mechanics
Does anyone know yet what species or map is coming in the next few weeks?
you may be right but after that teser they will tick off lots players
Oh I have and they are one hit killers
ye i know they one shot but they dont attack very often and not in a very interesting way they just kinda run trough you
well thats the attack animation for all animals ... dont think they will change that at this point ...
ye but leopards are protected to so i dont think thats a very important factor anymore
not talking about the animation just the way they do it its more like they flee trough you instead of attacking you
No, Indian Leopards can be hunted
Thats the attack mechanic/animation of all aggressive animals
What is the punishment for killing leopard in India?
The accused will get a maximum punishment of seven-years imprisonment and a heavy penalty according to the Indian Wildlife Protection Act (1972). Five villagers from Kerala's Idukki, who caught, killed a six-year-old leopard and feasted on its meat were arrested by forest officials on Friday after a tip-off.
straight from google
not for wolves, buffalo or moose even cappercailie atleast confront you
In India hunting any animal is illegal, hunt is banned..
in Nepal Idian Leopard is in Game Species List
https://faolex.fao.org/docs/pdf/nep187233.pdf
Complementary hunting license: The complementary Hunting
License may be issued to the licensee of a General Hunting License to
hunt the following wildlife in the following number, to be hunted in the
place and within the valid period prescribed in the license, if the fees
that has to be paid pursuant to Schedule -1 has been paid:-
(1) Name of the wildlife Maximum number of each wildlife
that has been allowed to hunt :–
(a) Great Tibetan sheep (Naur) – 2
(b) Swamp Deer (Jarayo) – 1
(c) Leopard (Chituwa) – 1
(d) Himalayan Beer (Bhalu) – 1
(e) Sloth Beer/Land Beer (Bhalu) – 1
(f) Himalayan Thar (Thar) – 1
(g) Blue Sheep (Jharal)
The only one different is wolves and it seems different because you are being attacked by multiples ... but even moose and bison just run through you .... and since lions just one shoot you dont dont have to turn and charge again
have you ever been attacked by a lion further than 100m away though?
Cappys are just fun ... you have time to turn and face them before you hit them with a 22 pistol
If it isn't tigers, it will probably be a good idea if they cleared that up in Tuesday's live stream before the map is released. There would still be room for guessing but the expectation for tiger is extremely high (from all these comments) and I'm worried it could backfire badly. As someone mentioned regarding reviews etc.
no every time I have had a lion attack I didnt see it coming .... I suspect this map will be the same because the vegetation looks pretty thick
Right, but capers and buffalo attack from way further
wolves as well
they just come for you. In my experience lions only attack when you're really close
there may be a range distance before they go aggressive ... havent tested that ...
i've only been attacked by lions 3 times or so, so my experience is very limited
Attacking lions are easy to avoid. Quickly run into water or leap up and do a quick zig zag. They always miss. 😂
Or rotate/scan with your gun in aim and they'll run off.
but one they go aggressive they all just pretty much try to run through you ...
yes, there's no attack animation for them
Yes have noticed that pretty much all animal AI will go from Alert to flee if you raise your gun .... I wonder how they know what a gun is ??? 😉
I often ask myself the same question when I'm doing bird photography. They will take no notice of you until that exact moment when you decide to point the camera at them and then they p*** off. 😂
I think thousands of years of hunter gatherer shenanigans have told animals that it's not good when humans point things at them. 😂
Hopefully we get a few more teases before the full reveal
They could also add himalayan monal pheasant
The bird from up is based on those
something tells me they are going to be adding trophy shots soon .... maybe not this update but possibly Sep/Oct update
They could also add satyr trapogan
I never knew sloth bears could be legally hunted.
Learn something new everyday.
Sorry for the delay, but sleep was calling. But I agree. It's sad to see so much negative comments about how long it takes instead of looking at it in a positive way that we are actually getting a new map. Eventually one day they won't release anything new for the game for whatever reason. Technological limitations, new version of CotW, etc. Be happy we get anything.
People need to be patient period.
As for updating the engine, while that might happen, I wouldn't count on it. Classic hasn't been updated. And Jaxy has mentioned in past videos it'd be a major undertaking and might be easier to just make a new game. So I wouldn't hold my breath and instead just enjoy what we do have.
I have mentioned those so many times but they are gorgeous
Oh, those are sweet!
Blood Pheasants and Koklass Pheasants are a must!
I honestly can't believe an asian map is coming
I am more hyped than I've ever been for a map
If there is a mountain part on the map they could add tahr, blue sheep or yaks
I doubt there will be yaks. They don’t even live in Nepal.
I’m just shocked (in a good way) that they chose Nepal of all places.
Didn’t realise
Those blood pheasant have really cool looking spurs
At one point in time they did. Now they live in central Tibet, China (no hunting since 2004 because… government reasons).
An Asian hunting reserve is a very interesting concept indeed.
The wild ones also hybridize with the domesticated ones
Well, it is the only place in South Asia where hunting is still widely practiced. Thailand banned any hunting that isn’t archery hunting, and India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Burma, China, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam have all banned hunting.
Technically seen we already had one medved just doesn’t give a asian vibe
You mean the Dzo?
The what
Medved is basically a map based on all of Siberia, which just isn’t what most people imagine when you say Asia.
Oh… right, my bad.
Samber
Axis
Hog deer
Black buck
Muntjac
Tiger
Water buffalo or Gaur
Definitely these
I dont think there wil be water buffalo they are really endangered in the wild
The Dzo. It’s a hybrid between Wild Yaks and Domestic Cattle.
Makes sense.
But you never know with the tigers
I’m leaning more towards leopards rather than tigers, but I wouldn’t complain if they do add tigers.
Yeah, it’s just a game after all.
The roar in the teaser was really deep and leopard are relatively small
It’d make my day if they added both!
Would be really cool
It would be really cool but also extremelyyyyy unlikely if they added asian elephants
True.
The only time they have ever introduced a new class was with class 5 animals
You don’t say?
Sloth bear would definitely be an interesting choice of big game in my opinion.
Or asian black bear
I thought those scruffy guys were protected period?
Would be really cool if they added these 2
I feel Asiatic Black would be easier, but I'd love if they did Sloth Bear. Regardless, I think a bear species is guaranteed.
Blue Sheep I feel are a given
Yeah because there is also just brown bear there
Same with tahr.
But the asian ones are cooler
Especially if you’ve seen footages of the scruffy brutes facing off tigers!
both similars
Leopard Roar
https://quicksounds.com/library/sounds/leopard
Tiger Roar
https://quicksounds.com/library/sounds/tiger
Just because leopards are small doesn’t mean they don’t have loud roars.
Sloth Bears? They could be on the map, they can be hunted in Nepal.
They have really thick skin to prevent ant stings and termite bites and they have massive claws
Indeed.
I want to see Sloth Bears more than anything else. I think they’re super cool animals.
They are not that big for a bear either
For me, it's Nilgai
Those would be awesome, i have seen videos of them in texas
Like I said — learn something new everyday am I right?
Nilgai would be awesome. They get pretty huge. World record is around 45” I believe.
Same with the fact I’ve just learned that Nepal is the only South Asian country which still practices hunting.
Yeah, and I think that’s why they chose it. I guess Pakistan could also be considered South Asia, but I consider it more like West Asia. Pakistan would make a good map too now that I think of it.
That and Mongolia hands down!
Nepal is also the easiest to recreate in game since it has only one hunting reserve and tons of information on terrain, vegetation, animals, etc
Mongolia would have probably zero trees and bushes on the map
Mongolia or one of the other “Stan” countries, for sure. Kazakhstan or Tajikistan is what I’d like to see.
Western Mongolia has mountains and lightly forested steppes, which is where most of the hunting takes place.
It’s cool to learn a few things from this community as we get hyped for the new reserve.
Altai-Gobi of Mongolia is the best region to recreate, in the north the Altai mountain system, in the center the Steppes and in the south the Arid zone of the Gobi.
That will be a great map one day.
I think that a Mongolian map based on all of Mongolia would be the best. Bring in the Gobi, the Steppes, the Mountains, the Forests, and the Scrublands. Make it like Emerald Coast.
That’s kinda what I’m hoping this map is like: taking inspiration from all of the different biomes of Nepal. The mountains, farmlands, grasslands, rainforests, broadleaf-mixed forests, and river valleys.
Is this a new map?
yes
perfect map for beginners
Only the name. Location not confirmed yet. Best guess is Nepal.
Is there a new GO coming with this map
hopefully
New GO is coming but not confirmed for the new map.
Another GO I won’t get lmao
I'm hoping for leopard or tiger GO though
Same. I don't know why I care tbh. LOL
Black bear I forgot
First maneater i guess
I hate hunting BB so I basically removed them from the list
didnt sound like a lion
could they have distorted it to put ppl off
It didn’t sound distorted
There is no lions there
And if there were you would not be allowed to hunt them
asiatic lions r in india
Hi!
there are in parts of india
Part
They are in one nature reserve in india
you wouldn't be allowed to hunt tigers either but ye i really doubt there will be lions
They have never been found in the Himalayas and judging by the flower that's the national flower of Nepal we clearly are in the Himalayas
lots of lions there
I missed something. What flower?
They're are no lions left in the light blue
Sauce?
The pink one it's the national flower of Nepal and endemic to the hamalayas
I hope the foliage and brush have a lot of detail
What's that picture from?
Oh hai.
Seeing the same textures on almost every map gets a little old
The pink flowers are called rhodondendron
Jungles like this are on every map?
They are indeed the national flower of nepal
The world has only so many landscapes
that flower look like a rhododendron
Textures
Most of those are new
and back mountain will be Machapuchare peak of central Nepal or Mt. Sisne Himal visible from Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve
my thoughts too
There are a lot of repeated textures on the maps
Not saying there isn’t unique textures. I do enjoy CC’s flowers
himalayas map.......
Textures are same ever, but vegetation species are diferentes in each map, except in NA map where are repeat por location reasons
Yes textures do repeat in nature .....
that Flower trees are Rhododendron arboreum specie
Oh the flower is from the thumbnail, awesome
either way this map better be as good or better than australia lol
Buncha slueths here. Lol
tiger could be part of the story line like u have to save it or something along those lines
Rhododendron can also be found in NA
and in the UK
The flower is pretty
I had one in my backyard (North Argentina) too but they only grow that size and form forests naturally in the Himalayas where they originate from
I said this yesterday. I really hope that both the species are in the game but you have to kill one of them because its been badly injured or entered the territory it should be in.
i would love to hunt tigers but i think i gotta agree, i wanna see the Nilgai, theyre super cool
also the birds in the trailer :o
Its bar head geese.
yes i dont really want to kill tigers i know its just a game but them being endangered species just makes it sad
Fe.
If a tiger is just part of a mission storyline and leopards are included in the map's main species list then I wouldn't mind so much. But that tiger better be a potential diamond . 😂
The white matchs
that is the natural distribution of Rhododendron arboreum
i was just googling cuz i remembered a factoid about geese flying over the himalayas, yes!! more geesef
bar-headed geese are so gorgeous. looking forward to seeing the rares for it
Thing is its a guess but its a pretty good one due to the colours
i see the white heads and necks ye
Geese are taking over the world
Its hard to see the white but it is possible
