you can buy the dog there, picks its color and name it
if you cannot do this, then something screwy happened

So, I have a really strange question because I have no idea on why this is happening and I have no asnwer for this lol so here it goes: Have they changed anything on the maps when you load them for the first time (like when you restart your game to lv1 again) so that they have at least 1 diamond for each specie? This is like my forth time restarting my save and everytime I do 100% exploration/main mission on every map and I ALWAYS get 1-3 diamonds max each. But Emerald Coast gave me 7 diamonds so far and I just finished unlocking the last outpost lol
Am I so damn lucky? Because I'm not grinding anything, just exploring.

Big is relative. A pro player will probably thinks big = diamond. But a casual player like me thinks big= gold. My advice is to compare your trophies to your previous trophies.
Dont hunt for something big, just hunt for something bigger than what you have.

I've not played it yet so I can't say how accurate it is, but I see a lot of reviews saying Kangaroos are WAY too sparse, compared to reality. Living here, they're quite common so I'm not too sure if it's just people making a fuss or if there really is a shortage of kangaroos. I have watched someone play it but they only found one.

They are not sparse at all. Where you first spawn in when you start the map, that area and the bottom left corner and across the lower part of the map has plenty. You should check out Ron Mctube's YT video. Plenty of roo hunting tips there.

I wonder if it has to do with the times I’m running the coast. The first diamond I messed up was between the 16:00-20:00 zone. I have been running it from 12-15:00 since then. Would that first respawn be going to the later rest zone?

Well, if anyone wants to know for building handgun skill, 454 hollowpoints can hit banteng lung at up to 230 yards (longest shot so far on one), and can heart shot a slightly at an angle banteng looking at you.
Somehow even a frontal angle will get you lung with the hollowpoints

The roos are spooky. They will flee at the slightest noise or sniff or glimpse. You have to stalk them or you won't see them before they flee.

When I shoot an animal I set my ping right in the center of the hunting pressure. This marks where the animal was first shot.
I'm able to find the blood trail starts there most times.
Helps me find almost all my kills

I think roo's, just due to their squishiness need to be lower in class. if you shot a roo with a 30-06 you would be picking bits of it off the trees 20 yards behind it

as an example of jsut how squishy a roo is with those larger, fast bullets....I head shot one with a 270 at 800m and basically there was no head to speak of left. Even at short range, 80 yards with the same 270, hit him in the shoulder and everything from his spine to his sternum was removed by the exit wound..I mean..he was blown to bits. they are too high class in this game

I have shot hundreds of roos....and the only muscle they have is their thighs and tails...they are very squishy
and if you shoot a roo in the thigh with a 222 you break their femur....which is very ugly

But, in a more broad aspect, mods for a game are content developed by players/community members that add extra things to do, unlock, explore, etc (think mods for Minecraft)
Hacks are third party tools that let you bypass having to unlock/earn something. Whether it be currency, items or, in COTW’s case, straight up spawning in trophy animals by the hundreds
