has anyone reported issues with the EC pest control mission? If you are not holding a weapon of the specified type when you claim the downed animal ( fox+shotgun, fallow deer+handgun, axis deer + rifle, and hog deer + bow), the mission will not register the kill (similar to the New England Olden Days MIssion). Also, the Davani 10mm is not recognized by this EC mission as a handgun. The player can use any weapon at all ( so kill the fox with a rifle, claim with a shotgun, fallow with a rifle or bow, claim with a handgun other than Davani, the hog deer with a rifle, claim with a bow, and axis deer with bow or handgun, claim with a rifle) and complete the mission that way. I don't know yet if any other specific weapons are not recognized as their true types in this mission's programming. Edit, yes it is in cotw-support

I did hear that jaxy read off a comment in yesterdays livestream and kinda agreed and said that he had heard about it but he also said that anyone having this problem should report becuase strength in numbers. I am also having this problem and myself being the hunter I am I shoot the animal and immediately pull out my binos to glass more well I end up harvesting with the binos so that could be my problem thanks. I also did think that the davani was not recognized as well because I did remember harvesting with the davani in hand and it didn't work so that makes total sense thank you so much for posting this and I will try it out myself have been trying multiple ways for the past couple days and nothing has worked but never thought of this so thank you

in the very eastern part of the map in the middle where the mangrove swamp is go just a little north or south from the mangrove swamp. not too much though or you wont get any but yes the crocs to make it a tad difficult. that should get you just far enough away from crocs but still be able to get the magpies to come in.

Yes, I do the same thing, and until the Olden Days mission in New England, I've never had a problem with missions requiring a specific weapon to be used.

I'll bet the code for this mission was copied from the Olden Days mission programming and modified, without realizing that it had this weapon-used error. Everything a mission needs to determine if a hunting objective was met can be found in the harvest data (as displayed in the harvest screen). So, if the answer to the question 'for the current animal being claimed, was the harvest check passed?' is 'go to the harvest data for the claim, and look at the harvest check results', why on earth would the answer to the question 'what weapon was used to kill this animal?' be 'oh, go look at what is in the player's hand when he/she claimed the trophy'?? I'm a professional software engineer, and after 45 years in the business, I've seen all manner of mistakes, but this is really a bone-headed one

I actually do not mind the missions being a little more straight forward.

Learn about some of the conservation efforts for the area, get a new toy for doing it, talk and practice some ethical hunting. Boom, missions are done and now you can hunt the map the way you want.

I don't need to chase a mythical bear the size of a station wagon volvo up a mountain, down into a valley across 3 rivers, up another mountain just for him to charge me.

Has anyone found a better farm spot than 4pm on the sandy beach? I made 75,000 just going up half the beach hitting Crocs and Banteg. for 1000-1300 each.

i use these 3 spots to hunt magpie. i rarely see a lvl4 and those barely make gold still have to even see a 5 and the only colors i get are maroon yellow orange. after way over a 1000 kills im just wondering do i need to find another spot?
