That Sanctuary a the top of the map is a cool thing. A zoo-ish experience, where you can see a few of the map animals in enclosures. They don't run away and you can just walk to the fence and observe their movements. In the case of the croc, without fear of attack. I'm sure there is a story to this in the missions, but I don't do missions. But it is a neat experience to be able to just walk up to them, and observe.
