Rabbits IRL will not go far from a burrow .... When chased they will run in a wide circle and eventually come back to where they were jumped .

JMO, the new map (what I have seen) is very realistic though I’ve never seen the northern part. But my hunting on the N Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee on the southern end looks just like this. Just needs turkeys to be grouped in the 20’s instead of singles. Oh and deer need to hid deeper in the brush and flip you off while blowing. Would be just like home 😄

On the Olden days mission, I shot several Moose, with both the Curman and the Hudzik and it didn't count them. However, once I bowshot a turkey, the next moose I shot finished the mission with the Curman. Don't know if the Hudzik will work.

Birds are easy, and they fly slow again, just gotta set up your blind in an open area. Geese fly in against the wind, so remember that when you set up, and if you wait until they all land you should be able to easily get at least 2 off of each flock, I can do it with controller and I suck, so you can do it too 🙂

And if you want a good spot for NE, bottom left, the "brain" lake there is great for all 3 species, its close to an outpost, and has a stand already if you don't have a blind.

Had an interesting NEM session today. Went to a tiny pond in the higher levels, with a 9 whitetail drink zone. I set up my tripod and waited. 5-10 min before that, I had shot and killed a low level male moose at the same location. While sitting in the tripod suddenly a low level male moose charges through the trees, obviously trying to hit me, up there in the tripod, and then ran away. A few minutes later, another, much larger, male moose came charging through the trees doing the same attempt at hitting me. and he also ran away.

Maybe the one moose I hit earlier just had time to send a "HELP" text to his moose buddies before he died 😉

Is the rangefinder bowsight currently bugged?

Was wondering why all my 100 meter bow shots had missed their intended target so went to do some testing on the hirschfelden range.
Turns out that when I rangefind at 40 meters and switch zeroing to 60 meters the bow finally lands it's mark for 100 meter shots.
If I zero on 60 meters and rangefind all my shots go somewhere but where exactly I have no clue.

Iam stacking and head managing in MedVed for Moose, I currently have a diamond moose 288-333 that I will leave and have many 4s sitting around. Should i shoot the 4s or try and focus on the 2-3s so leaving 1s,4s,5s

Not in this case, it's still well within the drink zone. I spooked a herd of deer and they never came back to their zone. Followed them after a while and found they grouped up with another herd at a different lake drinking

You're assuming I'd be upset about the change... I have no issues with EW's decisions to change things, but when they do, it should be laid out that something changed, even if it's not exactly how it works

I do not grind. I spot and stalk usually, generally walking or crouch walking following tracks

Well at this point any deviation from the predictable mechanics that allow for maximum trophy grinding is seen as a “bug”. I’m not saying the game should be punishingly vague, unpredictable and random to the point where players are miserable but the pendulum has swung way to far in the direction of grinders wanting every game system fine tuned for massacring thousands of animals to grind trophies. The problem with this design philosophy is that it basically makes the game cookie clicker. I don’t think that’s what EW had in mind when they wanted to make an beautiful immersive hunting simulator-ish game

I see what you're saying, but the beauty of it is that the game can still be played as a more simulator style. But it is pretty clear that EW in and has encouraged grinding for trophies. Even the official streams for the New England map talk about how it'll be nice having so many GO species on it, specifically for the grinding. But, as I said earlier, I'm not one of those players. I play slowly and cautiously, it's just hard to have a strategy if the AI changes without warning.

The .270 poly tips have 35 penetration, the .243 had 30, the .270 is not a moose rifle but it could be great for for class 3-7

and if would offer a little more variety to the class hunting
