In memorial to my Beardie who passed away last weekend, here is the one and only picture of him that I have.

He hated me and everyone that he ever met, and generally had the disposition of an angry old man, but he somehow managed to live to the age of 8. Purchased him from a pet store in my freshman year of college, and he lived for years in a spacious 80 gallon tank.

my old manager, before she was fired, bred her GSDs and someone tried to go raw with one of the pups
he ended up having nasty upset tummies from it, ended up actually hurting himself with the force and frequency of his BMs

and they ended up doing surgery to shorten his intestine I think, to avoid some of the dmg and heal up - but they backed on the food and flip flopped
he ended up having more issues of the same kind

It was the worst because they were weaning him into raw
and the vet told them to back off
so they stopped cold turkey and put him back on his OG Kibble

and then they tried creep weaning him back on raw like days after surgery and it just backfired

Poor little man's gut was no where near ready to go back on to raw after surgery, you'd be surprised how many vets are against raw feeding animals

The one thing that really annoys me, is how much people baby their animals, or try to anthropomorphise their animals, sure a dog's a family member, but give it the diet it's supposed to have not some additive based cheap and processed food which has more grain than meat in it 😂

Seconding not mixing parrots with softbills - if the parrot gets remotely territorial, the softbills lose. EVERY time.
and also not mixing parrots of different sizes

Conures have a much stronger bite, even the smaller ones like Green Cheek or Crimson Bellied - and they can absolutely maim birds with smaller beaks/bodies

Used to get some good ones from the ditch by my house. Just pour a ton of water down their holes, use a stick to check if they're still in there, and then just try to get them to grab the stick. You gotta pull them up slowly so they don't let go
