the theory is that the game wants to balance its population. i do that to a certain extend on my grinds.

thers not really a right or wrong way for me i do herd management whitch was invented by jaxy and flinter back in the day of the first great ones. You could be shooting all the stags or wiping herds. At the end of the day it comes to the level of Addiction shoot 2k a day and you will also get a lot of diamonds

The game will always try to balance small vs big

Yeah I mean what savanna said I'm just trying to say how this strategy works there's multiple strategies sometimes u get lucky shooting everything but if you shoot everything you get more dry spells

So the more small ones on your map will increase spawns of bigger animals because it will need to balance out the spawns making it big ones spawn because of all the small ones @acoustic cedar

Like i believe there is a score pool to fill for every animal lets say red deer is 5k and lets say to make this easy to understand 3 stags can spawn at a zone so if you make 2 of the 3 level 3's or 2's that zone for the last stag needs to pull its weight so that stag tends to be 220 score. And because there is such a big gap in red deer scoring, lets say every zone needs 445 points points in it 2 3's add up to about 200 so that last stag needs to hit somewhere in the 220's, 240's or 250's if it hits 240s its a gold if it hits 220's another zone needs to pick up that lost score so that zone needs to score 250'/260's. If the first zone hits 250's or 260's another zone does not need to have huge stags so maybe a level 7 spawns there. Heres a kinda rough lodgic i go by

And if ur not seeing respawns make sure ur picking up the largest first, maybe shoot some females to the pool to help push the males back out

Cuz usually I notice an animal will either respawn instantly or sometimes won't respaw until you kill and claim 4-5 animals
