the difference between hacking on console and hacking on PC is the risks and the punishments if you get caught

on PC, the most they can probably do is suspend your account, since PCs are used for all sorts of things besides gaming and the OS isnt owned by the platform (xbox game pass played on windows PCs is the notable exception)

on console, the platform owns the OS, and the console itself is pretty much only used for gaming. so they have a lot more leeway there

though the second group will more often than not be a singular animal (AKA a doe)
