the best advice i can give is "leave no stone unturned"
they can drink literally anywhere and everywhere on the map, so you kinda gotta check everywhere

I have yet to get a diamond. One whitetail that scored 268 so had I hit the vitals it would have been. But my question is this, I spotted a alligator and it said mythical. Is this a diamond or great one? I wouldn’t know because I didn’t kill it, I seem to struggle with the alligators

First off, animals will only make diamond at max level (level 3, level 5 and level 9 depending on species). Alligator’s max level is 9 so it is not making diamond

Second of all, there’s only two species in the game that have great ones: red deer and whitetail deer
