Nope, I'd say it's a good idea to do a thorough sweep of your map at the start, find the best places to hunt and focus on them. Every once and while, it's good to check those other places, since you can get stags dispersing to "rarer" areas, but you don't need to check every zone every run

I just started searching for a great one once the red deer go was added. Should I stick with a single map and keep farming it, or mix up my grind reserves?

It doesn't matter in terms of spawn chance... It just comes down to your preference. If switching maps will keep up your interest, awesome... but it also might be harder to remember where all the zones are and cut efficiency

Check all inital spawns on all 4 maps and continue grinding in one, the one you're comfortable with, I suggest Te Awaroa, cause although they drink in the evenings, there are no hidden zones like in Cuatro, (Parque and Hirshchfelden are just hard lol)

I've been grinding in Te Awaroa and I've nailed two diamonds and two melanistics there so far. Up until that reserve I wasn't a fan of night hunting but I really do love it. I just wanted to see if I would have higher chances staying on one or mixing it up. Sounds like sticking with Te Awaroa is the way to go.

Yeap, and I got 3 diamonds there and one melanistic, and for me the times are 18:30-19:00 is still sunny, 19:00-20:00 is visible with night vision (no fog or rain) 20:00-21:00 rainy and foggy, 21:00-21:30 visible with night vision, so I just start from 18:30-20:00 and change the time again.

Accounts differ. The two easiest maps to hunt are Cuatro Colinas and Te Awaroa. TA is known for having more red deer in better locations, but you have to hunt them mostly at night. Cuatro has a more spread-out population, but you're hunting in daylight. I'm hunting Cuatro

if you shoot a level 7, 8 or 9 etc, then go shoot stags elsewhere, they could randomize and spawn at any of the zones

ive shot lv8s and 9s from every single one of my zones on te awaroa and ive also shot lv4s and 5s from same zones

no matter what the game is trying to upkeep roughly the same amount of max weight estimate animals, same for the lower weights

usually there should be at least 1-2 stags that are level 2-4

also resetting time doesnt actually give respawns like everyone thought, but resetting the game does respawn animals that are not picked up. whenever you claim an animal it respawns instantly as well it pretty much initiates it

if you grind red deer on te awaroa you will see all of your big stags will move around the map. they dont stay in one spot

and thats how you can tell there is almost the same amount of big stags on the map at one time

if you are finding small stags u need to go search your other zones

sometimes you will get diamond dry spells where you dont get a diamond for 3-400 kills and thats normal just keep shooting all your stags you see. sometimes a troll will take place of a diamond

once you get really good and you visit a few zones and see whats there you can predict exactly where the big ones are

How is it pain, I know the night aspect, but it's still sunny from 18:00-19:00 and visible with night vision from 19:00-20:00 (rains start after) so I just hunt from 18:30-20:00 and switch time back, almost 500 kills in, I still didn't hunt during fog and rain

I do the same. I'm shooting wolves, roe deer, mouflon.... occasional ibex and pigs as well. It's nice to bring home diamond roe and mouflon and an albino mouflon during the grind as well 😄

They're perfectly capable of spawning in any fur type (except Red Deer GO with being common maybe?) though it's insanely rare.
