Apparently on rancho whitetail have been respawning in other zones. So it may be worth grinding however many you want to regularly and then checking the rest every so often. But I’d definitely wait for a second opinion, I’m not all that experienced with grinding

i.e. great one spawns that person never sees, or doesnt post here, or any number of things

they are either coming back with respawn or allotted to another zone

they basically fit in where there is space

so just keep killing and get rid of any hunting pressure in that zone then they should spawn back

For anyone wondering location of where great ones were taken, this lake is where xAshWx’s great one came from. In the herd with his great one there was a 277.3 diamond whitetail which I killed shortly after he got his great one

you will have small and big groups sometimes loners

say a group has 5 you shoot 2 on respawn two should come back

thing is with rancho all the whitetail are round lakes

so you can just slaughter loads but this means that groups will move

but they will still be around the lake. it just comes down to if you want to manage your zones or just slaughter

managing zones just shoot two.

if you have a group which is in a hard to hunt area dont shoot any. leave them. focus on other groups

Its going to be 3 days that I grind the GO on Rancho I only found one diamond and 1 albino during the initial spawn I just managed to find 1 melanistic but I have kill 593 WT I do not understand why I am not of level 3 which spawn , on Layton I made 1 or 2 diamonds per day for 150 WT kill and 5-7 diamonds per week .... 🧐

It's faster than that if you're grinding or bird hunting. Ducks drop diamonds like crazy. Same with rabbits. Geese can be hit or miss. MUCH SLOWER with big game animals though.

I hunted around 6000 red deer stags on TA i would definitely recommend it. But you have to hunt at night. If that is no problem for you go for TA if it is go for CC in my opinion those are the two best maps to shot a lot of red deer.

Ive been playing Rancho on ps4. The 1 day reset hasnt been working for me. Respawns seem to be suspect. Meaning ive reset time 4-5 days over and ive got zones that the respawns still havent arrived yet. IDK there may be an issue with respawns. Not sure tho. But ive def been experiencing issues with very few respawns on Rancho.

Honestly pretty sure it's just a super rare spawn that takes place of a diamond. Just how a diamond takes place of a gold after like 30 max weight kills. If u aren't getting any diamonds there's probly alot of other diamonds or something on your map blocking it but that doesn't matter with a great one you can still get it with the same chance, at least that's my theory

i checked that location all the time even spawned there it wasnt until i checked the tracks there and found the 97 - 110 kg track that i knew he was there

never seen it until i shot it

currently on about 1000 kills give or take on rancho and about 300 - 400 on layton

i swap between the two when i get a little bored of one then swap to the other to keep it fresh

yeah new layton is quite challenging but once you got your zones i think its actually easier than rancho

problem is on layton is the whitetail getting to drink zones

often they arent there at certain times still

So I’ve got a question for you guys. I blew out one of my zones on the grind about a week ago, it was the tiny lake in the top right of rancho. In the zone was a guaranteed diamond. I’ve checked every whitetail water source many times since, the herd has not gone back to a lake. Where on earth would they be?

Not that I’ve found. I think that might be the best idea though just spend some hours doing that quarter of the map during feed time

make sure the hunting pressure is gone and go back to the same lake at drinking time

should be there still. on that lake they wander through the trees bushes and the surrounding mountains

I did that straight away but unfortunately nothing ever came back. Do you think they could be drinking somewhere without a lake like they occasionally did on Layton? Or just not drinking at all

reset game and go to different outpost, set time to 8:30, wait until 9 and then go there and they should be there

Yeah I’ve done all of that sort of stuff a few times over the last week. I left my tent there so I’ve been checking it after every few runs of the grind. Unfortunately they have not come back

Yeah I got a tent up there. Have tried running from the outpost though incase there was a tent travel issue

No it was a huge herd, my biggest in fact. I just screwed up and shot one too many out of the tripod

if the zone deleted it'll take a while for it, and by extension the herd, to come back

If you deleted the zone you’ll prolly see a significant increase in deer in the nearby zones, or just new nearby zones on other lakes, those animals didn’t just disappear, they went somewhere

I can’t launch the game for a while but my tent is 240 metres north of the waters edge near that cliff so I walk down and have a decent view from the top of the hill

so its not a render thing then. try putting your tent to the south, in the field (you can call them to the wide open and see every single deer there) thats how i showed scarecrow that hotspot

and set it around 160m from water edge so u dont have to run as far but u still wont be out of render, i also have a tripod there in the field

i got my tripod about 200 yards from the water edge, also use the grunt caller not the bleat caller

because the range is way further on the grunt call

if you dont see anything again, that means your zone moved to a different lake for whatever reason

Man I’ve had bad experiences with tents on rancho. I’ve got to do around 200 or they do not even appear at the zone. I moved that one a little further incase it was messing with the zone returning but yeah annoyingly enough my rancho standard is about 220m

but its the same for everyones map no matter what as far as the render thing goes tho. you likely just had misreading on the binoculars cuz they are messy

Yeah that’s about where I had issues so I’ve been doing just that little bit further. Because I figured sometimes they spawn closer than other times of course

if you spawn and they are invisible u can fast travel back to tent, run the opposite direction about 100 yards
