@restive cedar the hunting pressure stays the same once you reach the maximum per map. say, you kill 30 animals and thats max hunting pressure. it can either be spread out across the whole map or be in 2 spots. when you shoot an animal and kill it, 1 animals worth of pressure is removed and re located. thats how it works

@full cave i have seen streamers like scarecrow, flinter, etc get 50-60 bucks per a 2 hour stream so yeah if you spend the whole day doing it you can get that many. its alot of work but not impossible just gotta make sure ur zones are not in places that are overly time consuming and annoying like the border of the map.

I've been grinding for an entire year since the GO was added and never seen an albino or mela since. Probably shot 4-5000 WT or more since GO was born. 🤷 But having said that WT have been broken more than tjeyve worked since GO was implimented in the game 🤷

Hopefully that will change someday. But I see why WT being the most popular big game animal in NA is only on one single map. Guessing its all because of the COMpliCATION of the GO. Will probably never see WT on another map. SRP was the prime candidate since WT and mulies live together in Colorado. So if they werent added then,will probably never get added into another map. 🤷

I mean rabbits,pigs,red deer,fallow deer,mule deer and I'm sure others I'm.not thinking of off the top of my head have 2-4 maps themselves. WT are not respected so to speak by the team. 🤷 I'm assuming non of them have ever hunted WT 🤷

yeah im not sure why they cant make whitetail normal. blacktail elk rabbits bears etc on layton are all found in the same zones even if the zones are deleted. but whitetail zones turn all doe eventually, and then end up 4-5 in a herd instead of 10-12, then u gotta search every single bush and crevice in the map just to find them, and even if you dont delete the zones they still move/turn all doe. do they not get that whitetail deer is the most important animal in the game? doesnt function like the other species at all.

they can be found nearly the entire length of the main river. there are also populations at pretty much all lakes in the southern 3/4 of the map

its dumb that 99% of the zones look like this are in thick brush on the same side of the outposts

and thats an open one compared to what im used to seeing

If your zone is all does, shoot a couple of them on your way to shoot bucks sat your other zones. If you do that enough times, usually bucks will start showing up there again.
The tradeoff is that you'll get does start showing up in zones that were all bucks before. The game seems to keep the same ratio between bucks and does no matter what you shoot. You don't get penalized for shooting does, and if you shoot enough of them you can pick up some rares for the lodge.

Yes you actually have to spend time learning the area you hunt and looking for animals in a hunting game. I fail to see the problem here. If you could find all the need zones in a single day, and all the deer stood in the middle of an open field with a sign around their neck that says "Shoot Me!" the game would get stale pretty quick, don't you think?

I did most of my leveling up at Layton and never had any problem at all finding enough animals to shoot. Yes, you have to look a little bit harder for WT and elk than other animals, but once you start figuring out where to look, it gets alot easier. It's supposed to be a hunting game, not a shooting gallery. Finding need zones is a skill you develop over time. There's a learning curve at first but it's not that hard.

The WT on the lakes are usually pretty easy to find, and I usually suggest beginners start there until they get better at spotting animals and finding zones.

Whatever side of the river they're on, you can set up tents and tripods to hunt them efficiently. Yes, you're going to have to grind some cash to afford all that, but it's pretty easy to get animals in this game and it's no trouble at all getting 15-20k per game day once you unlock a decent scope and rifle.

Experienced players who have their reserves set up right can legit shoot 15-30 WT bucks every drink period. Even a relative noob just walking the river should be able to spot 10 deer in an hour IRL. That's not easy enough for you?

depends on your tastes. i like the M1 for WT, BT, and fallow deer. I tend to use the .303 mostly for other class 4-6. sometimes i'll use the 6.5 for ibex at cuatro

The weird thing I’ve found is my zones seem to cycle in a weird way?? Like they’ll have bucks, then become doe only, then disappear, then often reappear in the same area with bucks and does again and repeat

Yeah that happens sometimes. The bucks can move around a bit and isnt completely bound to the zone you first found em on. The zone can look the same for weeks and contain same amount of animals then suddenley shifts. Just go out and find the new zone.

Not worth it at all. All other animals work correctly except the most important one. Example blacktail will always be at mushroom lake, western roonachee, willipeg, balmont. Same spots even if zones deleted. Whitetail zones dissapear and move without even deleting them I had a whole herd make a zone 400 yards away after shooting one animal out of its drink zone.

Thats not true. Ive had herds of 5 does,id shoot 2-3 and sometimes id get 2-3 bucks in their place. Youtube isnt the bible of the game so to speak. Plus you dont see exactly what goes into each and every youtube video. Theyre very misleading esp if it from the PC platform 🤷

And esp when it involves massive amounts of diamonds and rares from the same person. There's "illusions" that happen from tbose CCs. Theyre not playing the game as intended so to speak. So beware of that stuff. There's some honest PC CC's out there but very few.

As long as you kill some bucks the same day you kill the does, there's a chance one of the bucks will respawn back into the doe zone. Doesn't happen every time, and sometimes you have to kill the does more than once to get a buck to spawn in, but it does happen. I've repeated the experiment enough times to be 100% positive. Not trying to start an argument either. Just trying to tell you what I've seen firsthand.

Quick tip when calling out whitetail with grunt caller if you spam the caller button with the squat stand button it puts out calls twice as fast to get those stubborn whitetail out faster I use it all the time don't know if anyone else has mentioned it but it works

@velvet bough you most likely spotted a moose or viewed its tracks after you had the whitetail zone marked. It just overlaps the zone. You can get the whitetail marker back on top by killing the moose that are using those zones, then restart your game to clear it. I hope this helps. Works for any of the animals that are covering your whitetail zones

I would do that but with my strategy I am not shooting any animals at all on my map except whitetail. Don't want a diamond moose, or something else to possibly spawn makes it harder to grind a species unless u kill it. As for the icon they should make it where when you hover over it it says moose, whitetail. I'm not gonna go shoot a bull or cow moose and reset game to fix all those zones when the zones always dissapear anyway and it just happens again.

I had a couple ‘wandering’ groups that I saw pass through but they never had a drink zone, so they were all promptly removed with the .300 while I pursued them. Found between the .300 and m1 I did pretty well

.300 for small bucks (not diamond or better) when fleeing and the m1 when at drinking zones when I could get more than one down before they fled

Short answer is you can find WT drink zones nearly everywhere that has water, but they tend to be very spread out. Making systematic searches during drink times is the best way to find them.

i think i know how they really work now and ive tested it a bit as well but others are gonna disagree because its similiar

Yeah. Zones can move pretty far as well. When I last cleared the top zone in that picture it moved down to the bottom zone. That isn’t even my farthest zone move either.

I have 41 drink zones for whitetail, and have thoroughly combed my map high and low for a long time now. So when I delete one I find it on my next game startup or else I would go nuts wondering if the GO spawned in the new zone. Lol

It took me around 2500 for my GO, and now I’m over 6000 into the second one. So I know your pain. I was just lucky to get my GO.

The deer do respawn quickly. If that’s what your saying. I have had bucks spawn back into the herd as I was tracking ones I just shot.

its not suppoed to do it if ur in render distance but if u are hunting with tripods like the youtubers to then u likely just didnt see them in brush because ive had that happen god knows how many times in this grind

so i call every zone in no matter what with grunt caller

Now, when I move a zone for purpose of resetting my population, I completely clear that group of whitetail and then turn my game completely off and restart it. Once you’re back in the zone icon should no longer be there. That’s when I will go find where it moved to.

mine quit moving for a good while for the most part once they spread out so far

but still having some where they spawn does in only

if im lucky, after a run or two they start spawning bucks again but not usually the case

i had an elk completely dissapear off my map

trying to find it and let my friend shoot it in multi to check if its a diamond 4 or not because its massive

Didn’t miss the deer. It happens sometimes. Trust me. They can respawn that quick. I’ve had it happen a lot when I clear zones and make a bad shot on one of the does running away. I harvest the bucks and as I’m tracking the poor placed shot for, I will come into contact with fresh bucks moving to that zone. Even if it only had 2 bucks and 2 does to start with.

I wanted te awaroa for possibly wt hunting and hunting red deer in the morning/evening not dead at night so that map instantly got halfway ruined for me

Hence why there is only 5 servers open maximum 99% of the time vs vurhunga and SRP usually 15+

will show a couple examples

ok, so in this area whitetail are bound to be for their rest or feed zones approximately within 500m of where this marker is. so i had whitetail drinking on the top side of the river, always. but eventually they moved. i knew they came from the north end to the zone from the rest zone

so i went and checked the lake north of where they would normally come from, and they moved to the bottom of that lake

heres another example

i used to have whitetail at the mushroom lake, they moved to the tiny lake north of it and dissapeared there too. now they drink at the corner of the big lake on the left

some maps are going to be a little different than others though but this is how mine is configured

Exactly. They can move anywhere around the map. Basically you have to just keep.going over the majority of your own map to find the WT. They really could be around any part of the map that has water. Keep moving and RNG
