Shoot mule deer have so many more variations. So sad and unimaginative. From most feedback WT are one of the most popular animals in the game. Yet are "over looked" by the team.

I am really happy about the new map! New Zealand is one of my all time favourite places so this is a real great piece of news! I am burnt out on Layton too, and after trying countless different strategies it seems that it is just completely random and after watching @meager vortex YouTube vid (which was great btw) it seems to be luck more than "the grind" I am a person that loves a challenge and have put some real thought and time into my Layton map. I am not a person that gives up on anything but I think even I need a break because I am just starting to become a tiny bit burnt out and I think that the moment I relax about it it will happen as things seem to in life! I need to hunt some animals that I have put on the back-burner while hunting this unicorn 🦄 The new map clues have got me exited again and it's just what I have needed and I can stop using the M1 finally and try out some other weapons that are on my list.

Hey guys, just my two cents... If you all are getting burnt out in Layton than it is probably best to take a break from it for a bit. That's exactly what I did. I hadn't been in Layton in 2 months or more. Then someone commented on my channel requesting I do a video there and if it wasn't for that request I still wouldn't have gone back. I've just played Layton soooo much over the 3+ years of this game that I needed a break. Lo and behold, I go back to Layton and find the GO. You can even see it with my videos, the only Layton video I had in those 2-3 months was an all Mallard kill compilation which I had pretty much collected the clips for that video in the time I was actually playing in Layton. I would imagine giving it that time apart, allows the spawns to adjust, could be wrong, but at least when you go back you're in a better mindset.

Yeah, stepping away from Layton. Need to take the blinkers off and just have fun with ghe game! I can really go down a rabbit hole with my vision. I have my eye on a few more rares that will take time but at least I know I can get. I do think that there is some truth in the spawn thing but not going into that now. I am glad you made that vid Tu as it made me see things differently. Your game style is so different from mine. I feel like I'm farming animals instead of hunting them! I see a herd and I need all the males or I will go back until I have harvested them all! Totally ignoring all other animals in the reserve! I can literally harvest 40 wt in an hour and a half! Phew, glad I got that off my chest 😅 Now to go and find an albino fox! Alot easier right! 😅

Yeah GOs have a score of 274 but 3s are 85-100kg when GOs are 97-110
And since we have only seen like 3 properly working racks
It can be assumed the overweight ones are those nonwork8ng racks

Some GOs apparently turn into overweight lvl 3 when they go out of render / close the game. People find over 100kg wt which were supposed to be GOs.
So even tho GOs are found, there would have been a lot more if they weren't turned into lvl 3.

yeah what you have to remember is some people dedicated months of time every day for months then basically got over weight diamonds which should of been great ones

weighed 105 kg
i will go back on the Great one grind again when the whitetail are tweaked or go tweaked

Like I said the community does bash the devs from time to time, but it very much works both ways. Luckily they are working on the transparency/communication with the playerbase 😅

That would make sense that it could be tied to the scoring system. Especially as EW have come out with a statement about how it could have potentially broken the game without a proper fix. EW has probably known about the problem with the WT but just hasn't wanted to atempt a fix because they knew how bad the scoring bug is and had the potential to break the game

Nice. Yes more transparency will help a lot. Will be greatly appreciated. Before when nothings ever addressed or talked about or even having super vague "patch notes" just promotes a lot of unrest,speculation and confusion with the player base. No need for secrecy. Just tell us how things work. We can play the game however we want. If we dont want to know then we wont look so to speak. If we want to know then we'll use that knowledge to enjoy the game how we want. I'm glad they'll be cracking down on "stolen" images. Hopefully it puts an end to all these BS "claims" of having a GO on the map or having shot a GO but just stealing other peoples achievements! Thats even worse than using a hack in the game. IMO should be automatic ban. Bit just my opinion. So I'm happy to hear these things. Helps make me want to reengauge in EW and what theyre selling us. Ive been very sour lately and has gotten worse as the months went by this summer. But hopefully if they switch strategies,listen to the ayers feed back and what we want,could actually get the game back on track and hopefully the best hunting game out there. But time will tell.
I hope the scoring bug or whatever gets fixed. Makes sense as to Why theres issues. Esp with the GO. Theres no way a person should ever get an almost max weight(should be GO) and have it just be a diamond. We're all sick of these auper fat diamonds bot being GOs. Our hard work and RL time should be rewarded. So hopefully that solves these issue with the GO. You can get one in less than 200 bucks or it could take you well over 4-5,000 to get a great one. Just depends on how hard you kill for respawns and the numbers lining up for one to spawn.

they are not in fact the same species
species has many terms
some narrow it down to southern mule deer, for example
some all mule deer
others all basic deer like mule deer and whitetail
others would include elk onto that list

I used to let animals live and I prepared hunts for any cool one I spotted but the game is so buggy and glitchy I cant really trust that any animal will be on the same place again or if it even despawns

I just want them to work as we were told. I don't care about any new maps or dressing up as some dude. I just want the game to work as advertised!!! 😹

Yeah I would say that the melanistic WT are also super rare. I have shot over 1300 wt so far and have three piebald and two albinos and three diamonds. I think that a little while ago someone mentioned that the new scoring system could be to blame for so many bugs. EW also eluded to the fact recently and said it was a potentially game breaking bug. It would make a large portion of the community happy if they do fix it

So if a piebald is 1 /100 an albino is 1/150 a diamond is 1/50 a mela 1/200 and a GO is 1/1000 and people have only killed like 12 GO as a community what makes you guys think they are bugged?

It's the fact that the max weight for a normal WT is upto 100kg and anything over that weight should be a GO spawn so any WT over the 100kg weight should be a GO spawn but they have been spawning as diamonds which they shouldn't be which makes it a bug. Also there are meant to be 6 different rack variations for a GO and only 3 have been spawning correctly. We as a community have just been piecing all of the information together and have realised that something is wrong. Players are getting an overweight WT spawn at around the 1000 to 1500 harvest mark which is also around when most are getting a GO spawn which is also suspect. We have been talking about this for a long time now and we think that EW know about it but have discovered that the problem is bigger than they thought. Hope that all makes sense?

Similar to the gender specific fur variant thing that goes on in the game with brown water buffalo, blonde mallards, dusky kudu...ect I don't think the game was intentionally made so certain genders have specific fur variants. Probably another un-noticed bug that's been in the game for so long.

The hardest I have been trolled on this game so far
I had a moment when I stopped last week but thought about it and Its the trophy I want the most in this game. EW aren't going to fix this soon by what everyone is saying so I am just going for it too. I have read people saying they had three OW WT and 6000 kills before they had a GO so if that's what it takes then it's what it takes. I love the feeling of "it might be around the next corner" and it's what keeps me in the game.

They are bugged, only 3 of the 6 rack types are spawning and if you are unlucky enough to get a WT over the 100kg mark it was meant to be a GO but has one of the bugged rack types
So its a gamble to grind but a few of us are still crazy enough to try for one :))

I think after this next map drop EW has to be thinking of a fix for this whole scoring bug. It is effecting a lot of different animal species in the game and would make a large number of the community happy. Is there a list of all the animals currently affected by the bugged scoring? I know roe deer/moose are two

No doubt in my mind, scoring 2.0 definitely was rushed out quicker then it should have been, this is the outcome of that with all these scoring issues.
and with a new reserve on the way in a few weeks, who knows what the stability of those animals will be like in terms of scoring.

In fact iirc they never mentioned anything on Moose scoring, Roe Deer scoring or the fact that Mule Deer have weird spawns where the vast majority are level 3s, 4s are pretty hard to come by and 5s are significantly harder to even find. Yet alone one making diamond.

been around since the day scoring 2.0 came out, with Blacktail, Water Buffalo, Roosevelt Elk, probably a few more I don't remember. Not saying it won't be fixed at some point, but often things are labeled as "fixed" when they aren't. Usually takes 2-3 rounds of fixes for some of these things to properly be fixed. Not holding my breathe on it until it's proven it actually works 😄

Last patch seemed to bring some of the WT drink zones back to being around water. Still so many damn drink zones way away from water source. Is that what they do over seas? Just wondering cause IRL Ive never seen so many animals drink in the forest. Now I know why I havent been seeing many zones. Need to hunt drink zones like theyre feed zones still.
For a "realistic" hunting game so many things about this game are "unrealistic" but just a "video game" style of game.
