In all truthfullness RNG does use some basis in statistical probability math. So there may be a grain of truth in the whole HM being effective for certain species. Certainly not me arguing the case personally - I have no opinion yet on if it does or doesnt. I'm doing active data tracking and testing with my grinds now that I've stepped into them

Great ones can spawn off of anything, big small ect but they are more likely to have higher chance of spawning off of bigger ones, this is why people could think HM affects great ones

lets say the normal chances of spawning a g1 off of a smaller animal is {redacted cos they are made up numbers}
i personally think the bigger the animal the more chance so lets say it goes from { A bigger redacted number cos i will get banned for saying random numbers i made up}

I’ve had great one bears spawn from a lvl 3 male I’ve had great one pheasant spawn from a lvl 1 0-1 kg estimate I’ve also had a great one whitetail respawn as another great one it’s all random HM doesn’t improve the odds

I'm running my current test on a weight distribution theory using the Scotland boar. I tore the math apart to see all the innerworkings of how the HM process in general works first hand and grew that into what I finished off at (at least until I do another pop check when #4 spawns). HM obviously uses an acceptable value bracket of some kind or otherwise it wouldn't work at all but in order for RNG to play the game, there has to be extra space in that value - aka "wiggle room" - so that there's more variance and its not just a do X and Y to get Z every time.

Which is where statistical probability falls into the play and gauging potential outcomes of certain actions and their likelihood.

Now whether g1s are affected by this... my sample size is far too small yet. But I've seen some pretty clear patterning already by tracking the data like I am

The only way for it to be solved is to test it the same way you test a dime rate and test it repeatedly. To test a dime rate, you need 10 or so dimes to really develop a rate (and that's probably light tbh). You need to get 10 G1s on a hm map to develop a G1 rate (which very few people ever do). I've done it multiple times with both WT and Wolves and my rates blow community averages out of the water to the point I've got asked if I was cheating

Based on my testing there is a dab of truth in it based on the weight value ratios. But your incoming also seems to have an affect on it all because my second g1 literally took 11 high weight 4s and 3 5s and turned them into low 3s and high 2s... Within a single rotation

So in essence, I assigned a value to each weight range for my boar based on the max weight possible. 55-173 lbs is on average-ish (this is very rundown and simplified for base testing) 0.3 value of the 410-592 lbs range. So the boar values are 1 (max weight range), 0.7, 0.5, and 0.3 for distribution.

If my goal is to get more max weight range (5s and high 4s), I have to open a value slot of 1. That's unlikely to be achievable through a single kill of any level outside of that existing range. So in order to get a value of 1, I have to open enough value slots give that opening and still keep my boar count the same. ie: four 0.5 values (173-292 lbs) have the potential to respawn as 1 - 1 - 0.5 - 0.5 (the goal), the same 0.5 set (not ideal but okay), or odd combinations like 1 - 0.5 - 0.3 - 0.3 which would pull from the "wiggle room" of variance that exists to allow more randomness to the selection.

I see people who have a 1 in 10 dime rate and go 70, 80 kills without a dime. A dry run can happen even with a good dime rate. It happens. Which is why it's entirely feasible to have really good hm but have that 1st G1 take forever. But I can promise you if they kept going for more they'd come very quickly.
