Quick question, i’ve been trying to get my first great one for a while, but no luck so far, I’ve been playing for about two years and have almost every diamond in the game, what I’m trying to say is that I’m not a beginner, but I’ve been doing a pheasant grind since it’s pretty simple, and I don’t really heard manage, but I have gone 177 kills without one diamond or rare, and I’m about 2 500–2 800 kills so far, I know heard managing is important, but it feels like my luck is horrible, and the great one hasn’t spawned yet thanks!(is this normal)(
obviously not killing any females) (i’ve also gotten two super rare mallards, a lusistic and a melanistic while doing this grind lol)

my first pheasant took 11.7k with HM

My first pheasant grind was on sals and it took about 3000. I have it as herd managed as I can get it, but I hunt 17 zones for it😂. So every other zone I have are all level 1. That being said, my hm isn’t crazy because there really aren’t a ton of pheasants on that map and I hunt 17 zones. I haven’t hunted them for a while though

Yeah, I don’t do any of that, but I have nine zones, that I focus on, because a lot of my other zones aren’t during the right time and even if they are, they’re very close to each other or they are just in a bad spot, but I still feel that something is up or it’s glitched or something because going 180 kills without a diamond, is crazy, I know pheasants aren’t the easiest diamonds to get, but I’ve literally gotten more just running around the new map or in multiplayer I’ve literally gotten two out of 3000 kills ish or about.

17 zones is a lot of zones....how many exteriors does that even leave you???

Not many, I think I have 3 other "herd" zones and about 10 solo male zones. Which I have all shot down to level 1. I was going to try and decrease the zones I hunt but I get a run done in 15-20 minutes and shoot 20-25 pheasants every run. I figured that with those numbers I would spawn a G1 pretty quickly.

I think better herd management may help. Drop to 11 zones and her management at least 6 more

11 zones should give you 18-22 pheasant a run

I have more diamond pheasants than I can even handle in a lodge. I probably will just leave my setup the way that it is because it has worked for me so far. I put the tent on top of the zone and spawn and shoot them as they fly away with the shotgun. Very time effective, but it doesn't give much time to respawn if I cut it down to 11. I don't plan on going for another pheasant G1 anytime soon because I completed the multimount

Its not for the dimes. Im an adamant believer that really good, very aggressive hm, helps G1s. Especially if youre going for multiple you will see a noticeable difference

Yeah I think it helps too. That's the only grind that I have where I hunt more than 12 zones.

in the grand scheme of things i think it at least gives the best chance at a GO but rng still plays a massive factor

I feel it works the same way as it works on spawning diamonds, just on a much larger scale. Rng with a diamond can have it spawn in on your very 1st kill, or within 50 kills with no hm, or 300 kills with no hm. But if you herd manage, you control the frequency of those rates. Same philosophy applies with G1s. You can have zero hm and have a G1 spawn in 10 kills, or a 100 kills, or 5000 kills. With hm I feel I can control my G1 spawn rate to about 1 in 400-500 kills. It becomes substantially noticeable when youre very aggressively herd managed and you go after 5+ G1s on the same map
