So here's my final assessment on the boar and how they operate. Their standard herd size is a group of 6. However, you'll never have more than 3 males to a herd. So if you have a zone with 2 females and 3 male, it's gonna cap at 5 no matter what. The zones of 6 with either 4 or 5 females can get your occasional 7th as a bouncer. Any zone that starts higher than these numbers will dwindle down and space out to the smaller zones to fill. Thats all I got for ya!

You can use the zones with 4 females as well. You'll get 2 males and that herd will cap at 6. 5 females will only give you 1 male consistently, sometimes a bouncer. I wouldn't use any zone that has over 4 females

Find all of the zones for the species that you are wanting to hunt. Lookup a hotspot guide to assist you in where to look. Figure out which zones would be the easiest to hunt (choose 8-12 zones). Setup tents 240 meters from the zone and a tripod next to it. Optionally put a "claim" tent on top of the zone you are hunting to quickly claim the animals. Shoot only 2 males from each zone. Then travel to your next zone and repeat. After you have hunted all of the zones you setup on, reset the time to an hour and a half before the end of the need zone time, and exit to main menu. Rejoin and repeat the process until one eventually spawns. Also look into herd management or "HM" on youtube.
