@rotund beacon @viral lotus Find all the zones of the animal you want to hunt. Out of all of those zones, pick 8-10 of those that are your absolute favorite zones. Easy access, open shooting lanes, at least 2 males to shoot (in most cases). These are now your main zones. Literally everything else on your map are you exterior zones. Constantly shoot all the big animals from your exterior zones and keep stacking diamonds in your 8-10 main zones when they spawn. This helps to shoot down the rest of your exterior zones. Repeat this process until every single exterior zone is shot down and only contains small low level males. At this point youre herd managed and you JUST rotate on your 8-10 main zones for the duration of your grind

This is why flat numbers across multiple species - while an okay measurement - is not an accurate average

The kill count question is the result of an unconfirmed factor here. We don't know for sure if only shooting large animals increases the chance for a G1 to spawn. It is assumed, but it's also the default action of most players to target the bigger/higher level animals when they are seen. There's a correlation but we can't say with certainty that it's caused by that since the reverse has never been tested (as far as we know).
