Guys so i started playing a long time ago on my Xbox but never took the game serious then i switched to PC like 1 month ago then bought COTW like 4 days ago again and started taking the game serious i wanna know

1. How to heard manage
2. How to do the setups
3. How does the zones work

ibuy premiums has really good guides on yt for pretty much any grind that you want to set up on and covers these topics really well. I'd recommend giving his vids a watch

setups however, with the exception of black bear on SRP because it can be set up the same way for everyone, are entirely dependent on the placement of your zones

how zones work - every great one species (with the exception of tahr and pheasant) have drink zones. if you want to know where to find said drink zones around your map I would recommend pro xcks hotspot maps. I think most of his maps also have the times which each animal feeds/drinks on whichever map you decide to hunt

a good thing to search for fox is either the island method on salz or the 2 lake method on emerald coast

but like how does a zone work what is a zone , i heard someone say if i shoot an animal in that zone the zone will delete and i dont understand what he means with the zone wil delete

ok so when you discover an animal feeding/drinking/resting it creates a zone (i.e when you spot the animal doing said action it will create an icon on your map indicating when the animal will be at this place)

if you shoot 4 animals on top of one of these icons without a duck blind or tripod it will delete the zone

it raises the cap of animals you can kill before you delete a zone. so if you have no tripod, killing 4 animals deletes the zone. if you sit in a tripod, then you can kill 16 animals before the zone deletes

i also meant to say duck blind tents dont help to reduce hunting pressure

tents help to fast travel to the area, so you will want tents near the zones you are wanting to shoot

you dont really need to have tripods for fox iirc because their zones will have to be deleted to grind them

for foxes they arent necessary, you can choose to use them but their zones will delete. you want to be hunting pairs when you grind foxes, because iirc pairs give the most consistent respawns (dont quote me on this). you have to shoot both male and female foxes out of pairs to get respawns, so when you shoot them both their zones will delete. this is the reason why you dont need to worry about hunting pressure, because the zone will delete either way

zones delete when you have too much hunting pressure or when you kill all of the animals in that said zone

since you have to kill both male and females out of the pairs to get respawns, the zone will delete anyway

which is why it wouldnt matter to use tripods

if you do look up a guide for foxes, they can better explain how to get your pairs to the place where you will be shooting them

i have a friend of mine that started out by swapping all solos on the island for pairs on the mainland and he consistently just shoots pairs on the island and gets respawns there consistently

As many as you can find. I don’t ever bother with counting, it’s not needed. Just check everywhere they can drink, fairly late into the drink time and you’ll find your zones

For reds you’re meant to leave 4 and below ideally

And personally I would manage solos where possible

you deffo shoot 5s as the majority of your map once heard managed will be level 4s

so 5 and above leave alive.

at end hm for reds you will have about 30 male shooters

about 15 of them will be level 5s

rest will be 6s 7s 8s and 9s

basically any great one species you hm at the end just divide the total population of males by 5 and thats about the end hm levels of shooters you will have left

you can just shoot the higher end ones but less respawns but more diamonds

but you wont kill many per run

this also costs a lot of money or minus money

as you only shooting one or two per run maybe changing time twice or more

so you lose cash but get more trophy animals in less kills
