Pair Management is when you shoot only 1 fox out of Pairs on the right side of the map leaving the other alive in your exterior zones (right side of the map).
You can either:

• shoot only males out of pairs for basic management
  Or
• Shoot the Higher level fox out of pairs for better HM
  As long as one remains alive it will work the same. It’s entirely up to you.

If you’re doing EC then it would be pairs in your exterior zones

So pair management seems to boost the amount of pairs that respawns more consistently on the island.

I couldn’t tell you why outside of the theory that when you do pair management it puts about 20 foxes into repsawn purgatory and the map tries to balance it out with more consistent respawns.

I started out with 5 pairs after I swapped solo females out, I now have typically 8 pairs that are pretty consistent overall

From my experience yes with a little extra work.

To swap a solo for pairs:

• when you swap pairs you have to shoot one of the two and claim it per normal. That will force it into the respawn purgatory. Do not shoot the other yet.
• Give it some time (basically do a normal run)
• Come back to the pair and shoot the other, do not claim.
• Go to your solo female, shoot and don't claim.
• Main menu
• Come back and reset time and do a run or two to see the results, may have to be done again

Like swapping a solo female for a solo male it can take a couple of tries, but i had success in swapping out my solo females for pairs this way personally.

you 100% have some 6s and 5s on your map somewhere chilling. theres so little male bears that even a couple lvls 5s and 6s will ruin your HM in the 4 lakes. you should be getting constant 8s and 7s in the 4 lakes if you only have small bears outside lakes

you dont want any males above lvl 4 in the other lakes, make sure to check the shore south and spot you think you have already did your HM bcuz bears bounces so you may think a lake is good but you check it now it could have a lvl 6+ on it

once you get rotating on fox it's not horrible but it's really slow and finding all the zones is a major pain

i have a cotw psychological issue

grinding over two years now a fallow deer great one. killed close to 7k. i love the game and want do new maps, but this great one is haunting me

it is a kind of desperation. like a jouney which never stops. a tunnel without light

a perpetum mobile. but without energy.
