Basically you’re going to only grind the left landmass of salz (foxes have their zones along the red). And unlike most grinds you’re going to shoot both males and females. This is required because most of the foxes you will see are in pairs.

Pairs can only be 1 male and 1 female. You must shoot both foxes for them to respawn. They will not respawn if you only shoot one.

We recommend setting up a full 16 tents around your island approximately 360m apart from each other as exampled in the map, however you should adjust your tents to whatever works best for you and your grind as all maps are different.

When finding the initial zones on your island you should make note of the Solo Females and attempt to either swap them out with Pairs or Solo Males. (just ask for pair swap Instructions).

To fully HM you’ll want to shoot down your solos and pairs on the right side of the map. Females to 5 and below. Males to 4 and below.

Another way to HM is Pair Management:
Pair Management is when you shoot only 1 fox out of Pairs on the right side of the map leaving the other alive in your exterior zones (right side of the map).
You can either:

• shoot only males out of pairs for basic management
  Or
• Shoot the Higher level fox out of pairs for better HM
  As long as one remains alive it will work the same. It’s entirely up to you.

Pair Swap Instructions

• When you swap pairs you have to shoot one of the two and claim it per normal. That will force it into the respawn purgatory. Do not shoot the other yet.
• Give it some time (basically do a normal run)
• Come back to the pair and shoot the other, do not claim.
• Go to your solo female, shoot and don’t claim.
• Main menu
• Come back and reset time and do a run or two where you look in your zones to see whether or not the female is still around.
• It may have to be done a couple of times but it’s worked for me, Wonnyy and a few others so far.

I know it’s a wall of text but it’s not that complicated I can promise ^-^

No you’ll still want to swap solo females for pairs for the most efficiency.

The pair management will do two things

1. it acts as hm in which you will begin to spawn more large foxes more regularly.
2. it helps to prevent or fix issues with extremely low respawns on the island

The more pairs = more foxes to shoot (only males can respawn as G1s, so solo females are more so a waste of time to be shooting)

You only need to swap the females! So you can either swap them for solo males or pairs

To swap for solo males it’s very similar to pairs but simpler.

• Shoot the solo female, do not claim
• Find and shoot a solo male on the right side of the map, do not claim
• main menu
• check the island a couple of times to see if you sitll have 3 solo females or have an additional male

Now if both are high level (let’s say a 7 male and a 6 female) you can manage down the pair but know you will have to shoot both of them until one of them spawns low, then you can shoot the other and leave the small one

I would say manage down your pairs first once you are done swapping.

The reason for this is because pairs, while they will bounce a little ways from their original zone if you have to manage them completely down, they will not bounce as far as solos do.

Solo foxes can bounce very far away from their initial zone. So you will spend more time chasing them down

I would say yes personally as that’s what I did. I started with 3 pairs and since swapping and pair management I now have 8+ pairs. They don’t respawn all at once, but my runs usually consist of anywhere from 4-8 pairs. If they drop lower then that I’ll main menu to help get them back into their zones a bit quicker.

I am currently at 955 in my whitetail grind. I have semi herd managed as in I have shot down my zones to only contain females or females and low scoring males (lvl 1/ low 2). I am set up on 16 zones with 1-3 basketed bucks. I do have I believe maybe 6 basket bucks that are solos who rotate not to new zones but between existing zones. However I have been attempting to swap the basket solos with lvl 1s in my active zones and I thought if I do not claim them while swapping that they would respawn with similar stats to what they had been. I now have extra lvl 2 bucks and I am confused.

You could have accidentally swapped a few bucks out for females

Pair Swap Instructions

• When you swap pairs you have to shoot one of the two and claim it per normal. That will force it into the respawn purgatory. Do not shoot the other yet.
• Give it some time (basically do a normal run)
• Come back to the pair and shoot the other, do not claim.
• Go to your solo female, shoot and don’t claim.
• Main menu
• Come back and reset time and do a run or two where you look in your zones to see whether or not the female is still around.
• It may have to be done a couple of times but it’s worked for me, Wonnyy and a few others so far. credit alexdeathwolf
