So I did the fox island method during my grind, it can be done with or without it HM, but at the end of the day your main zones will be one’s where you shoot both male and female out of pairs for the most consistent respawns

Also if you want to better your HM try to get males 4 and below and females 5 and below

Females do share a trophy score with males which is why we reocmmend also managing them. As if you manage them too you’ll see a lot better results

Basically you’re going to only grind the left landmass of salz (foxes have their zones along the red). And unlike most grinds you’re going to shoot both males and females. This is required because most of the foxes you will see are in pairs.

Pairs can only be 1 male and 1 female. You must shoot both foxes for them to respawn. They will not respawn if you only shoot one.

We recommend setting up a full 16 tents around your island approximately 360m apart from each other as exampled in the map, however you should adjust your tents to whatever works best for you and your grind as all maps are different.

When finding the initial zones on your island you should make note of the Solo Females and attempt to either swap them out with Pairs or Solo Males. (just ask for pair swap Instructions).

To fully HM you’ll want to shoot down your solos and pairs. Females to 5 and below. Males to 4 and below.

Another way to HM is Pair Management:
Pair Management is when you shoot only 1 fox out of Pairs on the right side of the map leaving the other alive.
You can either:

• shoot only males out of pairs for basic management
  Or
• Shoot the Higher level fox out of pairs for better HM
  As long as one remains alive it will work the same. It’s entirely up to you.

Nope that’s exactly it!

The reason for this is because when you only shoot one of the foxes out of a pair but leave the other alive, the one you shot can’t respawn. This on its own is HM because it means the foxes you spawn on the island are going to have higher chances to make higher levels due to the missing foxes not being able to respawn.

It also well help in the future as the map will balance out this missing population of foxes by allowing for more consistent respawns of pairs on the island which is a common issue I’ve seen in the community where foxes slowly stop respawning on the island.

Now you also will find solo zones. Which are either a lone male or female. Sometimes they will be in the same zone as a pair so it’s good to look at the drink zone indicator to see if it says 1 or 2.

To fully HM you’ll want to try to get solos managed down (only shooting the higher level ones, finding them again and shooting them until they’re a low level. It’s a repetitive process unfortunately but it’s like managing down any other solo for another species)

It’s actually not that bad, and you don’t have to fully HM but pair management is recommended simply because foxes in particular on the salz are weird with their respawns.

It sounds more complicated on paper but truthfully you only have about 30-40 zones on average total across the entire map which makes both pair management and HM easier in that you don’t have to manage down 100 zones.

The worst of it is managing zones on the rivers

9s overall are best because they’re the highest but if you can only get 7s and 8s to spawn then you can use them all the same to manage down the rest of your zones.

Having 3 mythicals and 2 7s hiding in my exterior was why I could barely get anything above a 6 before.
