Gonna be totally honest, I'm still convinced that they're just random, given how much of a disparity there is between grind kill counts

I've seen as low as double digits and I've heard of some bypassing 8k

If there was any consistent formula to it, I feel like people would've figured that out by now, given that G1s have existed for a little over 4 years now iirc

Pheasants especially have been interesting, as we've been seeing a lot of low kill counts, Scarecrow getting one before he even had a managed grind set up iirc, etc.

So this it’s still pretty new but basically on the new salz map there’s a section of land to the far left that is perfect for fox grinding.

It can be done with or without hm and the idea is that you simply just hunt around the island, tents and tripods are set up approximately 360ish meters from each other and they’re not over zones but instead cover the areas that foxes can have their zones in.

Usually it’s recommended to swap any solo females for either solo male or pairs.

Solos will bounce more rapidly around the island while pairs will stay in the same general area.

However you will have to hunt both male and female for this grind due to how pairs work. If you only shoot the males out of pairs he won’t be able to respawn until you shoot the female too.

So that would be partially why it’s not working I’m afraid. There’s a specific way you have to go about them.

• So when you swap pairs you have to shoot one of the two and claim it per normal. That will force it into the respawn purgatory. Do not shoot the other yet.
• Give it some time (basically do a normal run)
• Come back to the pair and shoot the other, do not claim.
• Go to your solo female, shoot and don’t claim.
• Main menu
• Come back and reset time and do a run or two.
• It may have to be done a couple of times but it’s worked for me, Wonnyy and a few others so far.

It looks like you’re only shooting one which is why it doenst work. You have to shoot both, but only one of the pair can be claimed. The other has to be unclaimed in order for it to swap

The main thing wish swapping is to not claim. So if you’re doing it with a solo male, do not claim him, do not claim the solo female and then main menu and that’s what causes the swaps to happen. Claiming puts them in respawn so they won’t be able to swap

• Later start time
• Main Menu
• If all else fails go to the right side of your map and shoot males or the higher fox out of pairs. do not shoot the other one.

One thing ive done to help myself grind some zones is go stand where the animals generally stand when drinking and look around for an open spot that you can see the zone clearly from and that open spot is where my blind will go giving me clear shots

i think it is kinda in theory. I think overall you cant find all of your zones in one go regardless. the map however only has a set number of animals per species regardless. so it feels like it spawns more but they had always been there and the map has coding to compensate for things such as why hm works the way it does.

I've been carrying the 22-250 on Salzwiesen - I just like the look and sound and accuracy better than the 243. But, earlier I took a quartering long-shot on a chonky raccoon, and got humerus and no vitals. Makes me worry about fox.

what do you do when they don’t show up to their zones? i’ll set it to 10:30 and half my zones have no pheasants at them

First make sure your zones are 8-11 when I first started I realized some of my werent. Then. Make sure your tent is close to the feed zone but not directly on top of it. Also try shooting what’s there and coming back to one that weren’t in the zone
