Pick a time you want ( I choose 8 to 11 ) then run around and find the zones in the open, put tents and blinds on top of the zones and then blast only the males. sometimes a tripod works better then the blind.

It’s meant to be hard there’s a spawn ratio, and the g1 spawn rate is very low, that’s why people do herd management. Just keep trying, and keep killing (with herd management), and at some point it’ll pay off (it’s never paid off for me)

Yeah, everything I've been hearing suggests that HM doesn't help for specifically Great Ones, but it helps you get more diamonds as you grind

and with a better likelihood for diamonds, it also means that any rare fur types that spawn have a chance of being super rares as well

Of course! If you want to hm you’ll have to search the rest of the map but thankfully salz is smaller so it’s not quite as tedious. And even then you can just shoot the males out of pairs rather then try to manage them down if you don’t want to manage them.

So when you swap pairs you have to shoot one of the two and claim it per normal. That will force it into the respawn purgatory. Do not shoot the other yet.

Give it some time (basically do a normal run)

Come back to the pair and shoot the other, do not claim.

Go to your solo female, shoot and don’t claim.

Main menu

Come back and reset time and do a run or two.

It may have to be done a couple of times but it’s worked for me, Wonnyy and a few others so far.

Some come in fine at 18:30 but when things slow down I’ll move to 19:00 and mostly everyhting will be in by then.

I also hate night hunting more often than not so that’s another reason I switch times to help give myself variety

It depends on which form of effectivity you look for:

Efficiency 8/10, I don’t know that there’s a better method for efficiency but it does sometimes have its downs. Nothings ever perfect.

Effectiveness for rates and diamonds: 7/10 if you hm it works as great as any other method but overall from what I’ve seen you do get less trophies even on a fully hm’d map. I think it’s because fox’s trophy limits on maps varies a lot from that of other species meaning it’s likely lower therefore you don’t see diamonds every so many kills.

As for the G1: 7/10, I have seen multiple people use this method, it stemmed from COTW the Hunter who got two G1s with a variation of this method. Both sub 1k, however this 3rd looks to be over 1k. Wonnyy is the one who added hm. Last night we got to see yet another person get a g1 using this method sub 500 kills. But I’ve seen people get the g1 with other methods too.

I don’t think there’s a wrong way to go about grinding at the end of the day. It’s all about what exactly you want out of your grind.

Honestly I can’t say for certain. I don’t hm fully, only partially. on a fully hm’d map Wonnyy had 4 diamonds which he used to hm the rest of the map. However he’s experienced that the diamonds don’t spawn in as frequently as like fallow for example. However he’s still gets higher level spawns than I do.

So you cant swap a female in a pair

That would be excatly why. So foxes are often in pairs of males and females. When you shoot one of the pair but not the other the one you shot goes into respawn purgatory until you shoot the other.

So to fix this you need to shoot all of your females. And after the pairs start coming back you need to shoot both male and females in pairs

Im 50/50 with grinding. This fox grind is the only one I have been truly enjoying. But right now pregnancy is kicking my butt so I barely have the energy to play despite wanting to.

Yeah pheasants spawn nearly anywhere on the right side of the map in Hirsch
In cuatro they can still spawn in quite a wide range but it’s more localised to the fields

maybe more places too

but i dont think hm is worth it on pheasasnts

plent are getting them sub 500 kilsl without it

If just male solos come back in the same spot consistently I would think it’s worth shooting down pairs until you just have large solos ? But that’s a theory in practise
