the way this game works you cannot get respawns in zones that have less than 2 animals

this is why we tell people to not shoot zones below 2 animals when grinding other species

you pretty much brick respawns for that herd until you kill everything in it

It’s a bit extra work but here’s the basics of how to

so when you swap pairs you have to shoot one of the two and claim it per normal. That will force it into the respawn purgatory. Do not shoot the other yet.

Give it some time (basically do a normal run)

Come back to the pair and shoot the other, do not claim.

Has anyone got a Great One WITHOUT grinding? just actually playing normally (please don't hate me for this). theHunter is one of my favorite games of all time, real chilly and cozy and everything. Been playing since February 2017, have my modest collection of diamonds and rares of all kinds but not a single GO just because I don't really enjoy the "fast traveling from tent to tent". I know grinding makes it easier, but how truly hard it is to find a GO without all this?

I wouldn't grind, but hunt as much of an animal as you can, everytime you play just try to hunt the one animal you want as a great one, you can shoot other stuff but as long as you're shooting as many of an animal you can it's the most likely chance other than grinding. If that make sense

I swapped out 2 of my female solos for pairs yo get my 5

as far as we know the spawn rate should be the same but they are definitely one of the easiest to grind
