How to balance the system tho? For casual players it takes MONTHS if not longer to spawn the games highest tier trophies. So the casuals are unhappy because it’s not realistic for them to obtain such trophies. Grinders are unhappy because their play style keeps getting tampered with in attempts to make it less viable. Even if it IS just honest bug fixes that are harming the play style. The changes could just be looked at and asked “Does this help the players that the change benefits more than it sabotages the players that it harms?” If it doesn’t help more than it harms, perhaps it should be left alone until a better middle ground is achieved.

They always say they’ll never talk about how respawns work to leave it up to the players to work out, we never do and that’s fine. Then they do this and it messes up for everyone, casual hunters, grinders and those of us who don’t have a lot of time to play but still try. Some people in my youtube comments suggested to do two grinds. So you kill maybe all fallow deer and switch for black bear to pass the respawn time and come back to fallow and so on. But i dont know if the timer even continues when switching maps, could be tested though

7 years after the game was released, they suddenly started changing the operation of tents because they were supposedly bugged, but everyone knows that this is to make grinding more difficult. After the release of GO, it was obvious that players would find a way to get it as quickly as possible, and instead of being happy that we were playing this game, the creators were doing everything to make it more difficult. they could deal with the fact that animals fly, levitate or stand upside down. If someone wants to play a realistic hunting game, buy WOTH and that's it.

What if they aren’t specifically trying to hurt grinding for GOs? What if they just don’t like how easy it is to massacre animals on their game? That is understandable. I actually think this could lead to a GREAT middle ground after revisions. Currently, grinds can last a lifetime with many people experiencing grinds of over 2k kills. For a grinder, 2k kills is feasible. For a casual, 2k kills is several months of work. If they reduce the viability of grinding out such massive numbers, while simultaneously re-working spawn rates, I think both parties will be happy. Casuals will stand a better chance at spawning high tier trophies and grinders will still be able to see results quickly.

Maybe they DO support grinding. Being anti-mass killing isn’t the same as being anti-grinding. Grinding isn’t about killing 100 deer an hour. It’s about trying to achieve high tier rewards fast. So if they reduce how many kills you can get an hour while also increasing the spawn rates of high tier trophies they aren’t really hurting the results of your grind. Only reducing the kills per hour.

He seems to say a lot of things that don’t make a lot of sense and then it has to get fixed because of player outrage. He never said anything about respawns, just tents which was fine! But this he will likely get so much crap for from the community in a few hours on stream. Like when he made it sound like tigers wouldn’t have a drink zone and moose GOs would spawn with the coats and initially they didn’t. It’s never his fault, absolutely not, but he doesnt always make sense bless him.

I’m saying what if they were to increase the spawn rates. Grinding is a numbers game at the end of the day, so 100 kills/hr with a 1/2000 spawn rate should take the same amount of time as 50 kill/hr with a 1/1000 spawn rate. This would maintain grinders efficiency while also making it viable for casuals to obtain high tier trophies. Thats feels to me like a good middle ground.

Put it this way, there’s people like me who can only play for maybe 1-4 hours a day, and that’s without interruptions. We don’t get in a lot of kills compared to the people who grind 12 hours a day, we still be trying though. But our results take far longer, and now, they’ll feel even longer and we can’t do anything about it. To us, it’s a punch in the gut because our already limited hunting time, now feels pointless.

I’ve been grinding for a GO fallow since they came out and haven’t seen one, sometimes I have more hours than not but I’m over 11k kills on that grind with nothing but a bunch of piebalds, a few melas and maybe three albinos. Think about the people who can’t get as many days or hours in. Good on you for getting one in that time, but it’s not the same for everyone, and it’s not skill issue, it’s rng.
