I got all my muntjak zones and had only 1 that was over level 2. I chuckled to myself as they are 100% herd managed now lol.

If you still learning the game I would say just have fun before committing to a grind. Learn the ropes, gather cash so you can buy all your tents and tripods, find a couple of diamonds and see what species you prefer. After that you are probably going to already know the species you prefer grinding.

Nobody truly knows but there have been some ppl that get it to the point where it looks like it does boost it but at the same time some people's doesn't change

i gotta be honest if someone is trying to get their first great one i would not advise trying to do herd management. especially if you are somewhat or entirely new to the game. its probably going to be a long process regardless, but herd management takes quite a bit of time to do and is often confusing for new players. if youre going for your first great one i would just follow the basic steps. find all the drink zones (excluding tahr obviously), set up on 8-10 of the best zones, and just keep shooting.

I was accidentally doing inverse herd management I was shooting all small males while my big ones where in zones I didn’t know existed or where solos. It was quite a mentally taxing grind 😂

I rotate on about 20 zones, I kill one male per zone, and female only zone I also kill one only, it sometimes forces the males that split off back into the zone, making it a lot more consistent for myself

Hey, grinders. What's the best method for grinding super rares or a specific fur color you want?
After a messed up trophy and a troll, I finally got my tibetan fox diamond and I've decided I don't like its fur color. I really love the tawny (which I understand is more uncommon than rare) but I mean, if I get a super rare on my grind that would be even better.
But how do I go about doing this? Finding diamonds even with herd (pack) management is difficult enough. No clue how I'll manage to spawn enough to chance a tawny or rare without spending months on it consistently.

Herd management, the basic principle is that if you leave a lot of small males on your map the game is gonna force the next spawns to be bigger. So more chances that if you spawn a rare, it’s also gonna be a diamond. Managing foxes doesn’t sound easy but probably try killing everything over level 4 (maybe someone did it with other foxes and can give you a better number)
