Grinds even with herd management don’t have to be pitch perfect, you can miss some deer or just don’t find one or two zones. Yeah the more perfected the better but you can get almost as good results. So don’t overwhelmed with the technical details some guides have. If you are going for just a great one speed is more important than herd managment. Try to keep yourself above 60 kills per hour and enjoy the grind, you’ll get what you want eventually.

I've found quite a few zones already and keep having to set up new zones cause my one with 8 males get reduced to 2 and then stops respawning, lovely

It's strange because I found almost no 07:00-11:00 zones but a lot of 04:00-07:00 zones even though i've checked in the correct times

Try to leave atleast 2 males in a herd, if that's not possible, then just use a different zone to shoot

Yeah I was shooting all males and leaving atleast two of them per zone (made the respawns a bit more consistent)
If the zone changed to a single/double male zone, I abandoned it and found a new one (since shooting the last males just turned the zone into an all female zone)
