Zone vs herd indicator

Setting up a moose grind on MEDVED. I’m finding within zones there are solo bulls. For example, I find a zone with 5 moose total (2 males, 3 females) the herd indicator says it’s a solo male then a herd of 4 (1 bull 3 cows). What should I do about this? Do you set up and shoot based on the herd indicator or the zone?

honestly in my experience it's 50/50

sometimes the indicators are accurate, sometimes they're not

Do you shoot zones with solo bulls in them? I leave solo zones alone but never realized that zones with multiple animals may have solo bulls with them

If your doing hm just make sure the solo bull is shot down and your fine, if not just keep in mind usually once you shoot the solo inside that zone it’ll move

Yeah but it looks like he’s mapped it out when there’s just a solo zone. Not paying attention to the zone indicators on the ground. I’ve zones with 6 animals in it and inside that zone the indicator on the ground says there’s a solo bull in a zone.

Animals don’t move by themselves, you have to shoot them first therefor if you notice a new male in a zone then it’s probably your solo male

This is what I’ve been doing. Blue is bulls and pink is female. Half the blue dots inside the zones are solo zones though. There will be a zone with 5 animals in them and it’ll be like a group of 3 (1 bull 2 cows) then 2 solo zones (1 cow, 1 male).

mtn lions were a bit of a issue until about 6:30am

then bears were at zones and rocky mtn elk where everywhere

at 5 30am all i seen were mtn lions chasing and growling at every location for bears

think ideally should just either remove mtn lions or just only have a handful of them. would make grinding bears far more fun

or just not make them appear at all for the early morning drinking time of bears

so sleep for those 4 hrs
