Usually when I go to collect I try to check the zone info 1st see if it is a si gle zone animal or multiple there. Sometimes can get 3 or 4 solos gathered about or in alongaide a group.

That's one way to do it, but read up what Ron said

I trust him on increasing levels because man's got red deer grinding down to an art

have you revisisted zones and covered all ground to make sure respawns havent happened elsewhere. Fallow are similar in a way to Moose and have a lot of solo zones that can drift about. I revisit at least fortnightly zones that I have written off as non shooting or empty as sometimes they pop up.
