I just started going for whitetail and I’m wondering if anyone knows why a few of my zones have lost all there males leaving just females in the zones

It’s not the biggest deal bc only a few of my zones have done this but still very curious why it’s happened

could be at your other need zones

or you haven’t unlocked all of your need zones on that map yet therefore need to search more of them

So what you should be doing is using herd management im going to assume you know what that is, incase you dont you kill only lv 3s+ it will increase the chances of a super rare or greatone spawning. Im on 300 kill fallow grind with 4 diamonds, 8 pies 2 albinos and 1 mela. My luck has been extraordinary.

I’ve been killing 3s 4s n 5s should I stack my 5s n then do a big kill on them or shoot as I see

HM I’ve heard works great with moose n red deer but I haven’t seen to much effect with it rn on my grind plus my management is not the best I still haven’t fiddled with the single animal zones n such but I have a shit ton of twos respawning after my 4s n the zones then turn to duds is that normal

the only reason to stack 5s is at start of a grind

to help get lower levels to spawn because you already have level 5s on your map

you dont have to stack them can still kill them normally and just kill 3 4 5s

the aim is to get half your population as low levels

so moose 2s and below

then this will mean level 5s will spawn quicker

also possibly a go quicker

i personally think a go isnt random anymore

its just spawned more likely off a higher trophy animal

as that makes sense

when you grinding normally you just get levels go up and up and then make diamond

so possibly a go spawns more often off a diamond respawn as its the next up level to go. just lower probability of happening.

there is another thing which i think may happen but when i know it works i will share

this will mean if no hunting pressure most of the respawns will go there

the animals will respawn every time but it takes like a day often

then go back in

Just topped 1400 kills on the emerald coast grind, getting a dime every 25 kills atm. Probably not taking my HM any farther till i get my first G1 to spawn as chasing those solos is pure hell. Easily will take 5x as long to manage this map as it would on te awaroa strictly cause chasing the solos is awful

the thing is with less males it may also turn really good

100 males vs 140 on te so in theory should get lower levels quicker apart from the solos which take time up

it will be interesting to compare if you get your shooting pool down to very low numbers

on te awaroa my reds are 23 shooters

Not crow but a devout follower I feel safe saying Te Awaroa is where you should be doing it

it's the easiest by far

only issue is that it's also the best map for fallow and it's hard to have a set up for both species

this is the main one really. the grind for this one has basically been 10k kills all collected over a year of playing daily

there is a bit of luck but its mainly hard work and graft

the luck lessens with good hm

once you get past a certain point thats the whole point of hm

you lessen the probability the more you herd management to remove the luck

so if you get one in low numbers you are lucky

as the probability is very long odds

simple answer is count you level 2s

there is 80 males roughly and you want close to 35 - 40 level 2s

thats when herd management really kicks in

the reason you stack the 5s is to help lower levels spawn

so you can kill them now if you want

but hammer the 3s and 4s

then you will start to gradually see more 5s

fallows for eg you want about 35 - 40 males as level 2s

thats half the male population of males

then you get level 5s respawn faster and possibly a higher chance of a GO spawning

as its respawning a less amount and higher levels

just shoot 3s 4s
