Having all zones is not necessary for Great One spawn, it just helps for respawns in general, but apperantly, It's been talked that collecting your kills is important for the GO spawn

I applaud anyone that can make themselves shoot more than 10 of those bears at a time. I haven't set up a crazy grind for them with tents or anything and basically just run to the lakes but not more than 300 to 400 meters and I just can't get my brain past well maybe they're all gonna be female at the lake(happens often)

and the then the problem of well maybe they won't even be there at all because males like to show up mega late.

but I don't think they want to people to grind or hunt at drink zones in the first place, dunno where I saw it but I saw somewhere the devs didn't intend great ones to be grinded. so I don't see them making it easier and they also said(can't remember where I saw that either) ghat black bear is the hardest to grind to date. so if that's the truth, my hope of them making them better is low. but hope is hope. No that isn’t true. I mean if you shoot 4 animals out of that zone it’ll get deleted and move somewhere else. Or if you shoot a female somewhere near there and then a male in the herd it might swap. But they won’t randomly disappear. Not all herds respawn the same amount of animals tho. You have to find consistent zones that respawn.

I have been grinding for some time now. This is common. The zone in question I havent visited for probably 4 cycles past session and one cycle this session as its not a common shooting zone. Late to zone has been happening a lot since they changed around the drink zone settings.

Went to a zone I removed tent and havent shot at for weeks and they hadnt come in there either I know it is a 4 fallow zone 2 female 2 male since day 1 of EC. I went just to see if another randon zone may have popped up in that area but none had come in at 1200.

Just a bit of advice from me, I have found that SOMETIMES fallow will drink off their zone 200-250 yards on occasion. The G1 fallow i shot was drinking on a hill 300 yds from his zone. And I’m sure you know this but ensure your spawn tents are 275+ away from your zone. Hope this helps brother 💪🏼

Red deer and moose were a PITA for drinking off zone on my grinds lol. Moose I had a respawn issue I cant remember how I fixed that. Might be happening here again.

Think I map changed to NEM now recall. I had no moose respawning and I was cycling days at a time to see if they were taking a while and I went around every zone and old zones without shooting things just to see but from memory when I moved to NEM to grind the rivers instead then went back they returned.

I know NEM I got a diamond moose in the 1st 10min I was kinda laughing but pissed at that as I still hadnt got one on MED lol

On Medved I found under 230m they wouldnt spawn in over that was fine. I had a couple setup on the ice just under and I would have to walk back out to 230m and the moose would drop from the sky spawn lol.

I used that to a benefit in some places as if there are 2 zones on a lake or river and 1 was down to non shooter levels I would just dump a tent there or near there if was 230+ away from another zone that could shoot like across a lake. Spawn in shoot over then go harvest the other side then check with binocs if any decent levels had joined the zone near tent if they had shoot em then travel back save walking.

Yeah I went over to another map for a bit and did some hunting. Med went dry went to NEM for a bit then came back and seemed to pop again. My fallow was like that last week too so went hunting bears for a bit.

I know Ron has said respawns can take a few days to cycle back in too so that could be part of it but it also seemed like the respawn system failed as well for me. Try run a few cycles of something else on another map for a few days see if comi g back alters it.

Trouble with bears is they are solo animals so the damn things can respawn anywhere as you are effectively killing that zone each time you shoot 1

yeah but i've found my respawns have consistently stayed on the left side

they might drift between a lake above or below the one i shot them at but they always stay in my rotation

That reminds me check the zones on your WT before harvesting them to see if they are solo animals or in group. They could be pooling somewhere. Even if they drink in a group they may not be part of a herd. I had that issue with red deer I cleared a zone and thought nothibg off it till found about 8 solo level 6+ there on a random pass through

My fallow have been pooling up near the crocs on EC at the top atm so I had a fun stroll there on Tuesday and took out an entire croc population lol

I havent done a WT grind as havent really been interested in them much . More the big and angry animals I like lol. Fallow has been boring a bit had to find fun doing other stuff so I daresay WT with their large amount of zones and as they are prob annoy me a lot.

When you drop one before you pick it up check the drink zone see what it says for number. Should be able to tell as the zone and the corpse will match highlight colour. Lot of my grind animals are solos which becomes annoying

I put a tent 1 end of a lake shoot em then they respawn at the tent end of the lake lol.

Lazyness lately I been closing up my tent range to visual range so if I sacrifice a female only zone or single shootable so be it. I can fast travel in spot if 1 on other side shoot then run around lake and shoot back to tent area if anything pops up and travel back. Got sick of setting tents 240m away in the thick brush to cover all zones

Hope ypu get it sorted I know the pain of travelling to 10+ zones that are reg like clockwork and nothing spawning. You sort of notice the entire herd is missing sometimes not just the respawn thats when start to realise they arent spawning

So I've been doing the impossible and doing a Great One grind on Hirschfelden and the amount of exterior zones is insane and alot of solos. So far I managed 5 rares and about 10 or 12 Diamonds but I'm getting some zones empty with no Red Deer showing up and some herds with only females but I'm noticing after shooting two females in the all fem herds about 3 sometimes 4 males will show up???

I don't understand that part as I'm sure females don't respawn as males unless it just took that long for the males to make it back to that zone?

Also I'm finding some small herds outside of drinking zones during drink times and stumbled onto a few of these when tracking a harvest that ran out of the zone. Any advice on this would help tremendously because I managed to get a Lvl 7 Albino in one of these herds not at the zone during zone time.

I've also lost a few zones when killing solos in a solo zone with no previous hunting pressure whatsoever just taking out the solo and the zone disappeared this happened 6 times so far with 3 of these zones being a lvl 6, two Mythicals & one Diamond.

I am currently trying to get all exteriors down to lvl 5 and under to make things easier but I'm already noticing my Hirschfelden grind is taking 3 times as long to making kill progress compared to my buddy who is doing a grind on Te Ar and we started our grinds at the same time.

I know Hirschfelden is not the map to grind on since the spawns and animals are extremely wide spread and the sheer amount of need zones is way too much to try and take on. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated because to me a Hirschfelden Great One is the One. 🙌

You’re already doing advanced techniques, as long as you’re picking up kills there’s not much advice left to give. Hirsch just kinda sucks for efficiency.

Females don't respawn as males, but, if you kill enough males in surrounding areas they may migrate to open slots in other zones

effectively 'swapping' if you will

• Killing an animal in a Single Animal Zone will eliminate the zone, since there are no other animals to sustain it... That said, the zone will reappear neaby, you just need to rediscover it

I’m doing a hirsch red deer grind too. I DO NOT recommend doing hm at all on there. It would be not worth time and take like 200 hours or more. If you just find consistent zones that respawn 2 males. Just setup on those and only hunt them and don’t worry about hm. Make sure you have about 120 zones btw.

Hirsch is a Kingmaker of a map. You're already on the right track, but really it is going to boil down to proper tenting to make the most of your zone/travel efficacy

Also, regarding above with making sure to have '120 zones' - not everyone will have the same zone amount as ALL the maps vary

There are no static zone numbers
