I know I’m super late to the whole GO ruining game topic, but I was pinged to contribute and feel the need to do so

The only way, in my mind, to make GOs achievable for the casual player without adjusting the spawn rate to accommodate them is to give the GO a chance of randomly spawning on your map every time you boot up a reserve. Keep the same spawn rate (let’s assume it’s 1/5000 for this example) but just allow it to spawn as an extra animal on top of your existing populations, even if you haven’t shot any animals and aren’t getting respawns. To balance this and prevent people from just closing and reopening up the game until you have a bajillion is to limit it to 1 GO per species, per reserve. It gives casual players who don’t have the time to grind a chance to randomly have one spawn at any of your current zones/herds

That’s my take on the GO conundrum at least. I feel this still lets the grinders do their own thing without making it impossible to grind for one and gives casual players the opportunity to find one

Making Great Ones more achievable is something that needs to be approached very carefully. The whole point of GOs is that they are extremely hard to find. But at the same time I understand how mentally tasking grinding can be. Also, I wouldn't want GOs to be purely luck based, since I believe hard work should be rewarded.

I'd love to hear @pale oracles opinion.

Lol the GO being hard to get is the whole point. If it becomes easy those that work for them would complain there is nothing to work for in game or nothing special as anyone can get them then those that complained it needs to be easy will ask for something else as everyone has GO's now. Its like someone saying our team sucks at sport so we want a participation trophy and for you to make it easier for us to win. Better teams will just say screw it not worth the effort if its a given and walk away.

Honestly I just wish they did actual non typicals like levels 1, 2 and 3 instead of great ones because they would've been easier to obtain (at least the level 1's and 2's for whitetail). Only reason why I chase after the whitetail go is because it's a non typical. I honestly could care less for the bear and moose I'm not interested in those same for red deer. Only reason why I grinded red deer so much was because of the cash and rares.

That would be great. Except for now their focused on great ones for other species and other things, vurhonga still needs truracs for gemsbok, wildebeest, cape buffalo, and springbok. If they do plan on non typicals I wouldn't expect it anytime soon.

Hot take: if the game was entirely random nothing would be impressive. Similar to how winning the lottery isn’t an impressive feat, getting a trophy animal on a system that is essentially a lottery system wouldn’t be impressive. I like keeping up with other peoples grinds and seeing the work they put in to achieve their goals. Makes it even more special and impressive when it finally happens knowing that the person spent countless hours grinding. Seeing a player with an initial spawn GO isn’t nearly as impressive as seeing someone finally get their GO after a 4k kill grind.

Yeah u get faster diamonds BUT at the START of the grind you wanna stack them so you spawn more 3s and 4s. Or 2s. Once you have enough small ones, and you shoot all the diamonds your map is gonna be like uh wtf we gotta fix this by adding in more diamonds to balance the map out

So always stacking diamonds through the whole grind is very harmful. But doing it at the very start is beneficial

yeah you start off by shooting level 5s and above leave 4s and below

then once you get lots of level 4s you know its working

half my map is level 4s

then the bigger deer spawn more regular because you got the lower levels

dont stack diamonds

it harms your respawns

i spent months trying all of this to get to this point

since last september

so now about every 10 - 20 kills i get a diamond

Hi guys, my moose stopped respawning at 900 kills on medved. is it a good idea to change to revontuli. I already found all zones. But at first i had the problem that i only hunted 5 zones and the moose didnt respawn ( on medved and rev ). When i set up more zones they respawned. Now im scared that my moose on rev will not respawn even if i set up like 10 zones. Are 10 Zones enought on rev ?

It's the best and the worst. So. Realistically, whilst you have all these zones, if you are only hunting like 10-15 of them, they have probably "migrated" to any of the other 40+ zones

Anyone else really enjoy hunting for a GO whilst alongside someone else? I grind with my bf almost daily and we have so much fun, we swap between te awaroa & medved. I want a GO moose, he wants a GO red deer. It’s really fair :3 Any rares we come across is fair game as I only want piebalds atm and he only wants albinos. Any other fur types or animals with rare furs, we just take turns in having :)
