and plus ontop of (usually) being heavier then single barrel reciprocating actions, it feels alot heavier then just what a scale reads because the centre of gravity is further towards the end of the gun

But in my opinion the old guns are better than the new ones in some cases

Plus unlike rifles shotguns can basically be shot as long as you live if you keep up good maintenance and this is due to limited barrel wear

Like you can have 100 year-old shotgun that shoots just as good as the day it was made

Rifles get to a point where you just can’t use them for what you used to they basically become “practice” guns now there are some calibre that do lost a very long time

Also what I don’t understand is why is it a bad thing to have weight like yes you’re gonna get tired but the more you do something the stronger your body gets and the more used to it you are thus the strength builds itself it just takes time like most things you just have to commit or it really is a problem and you get tired easily in which case it might be good to start working out go for long walks practice being quiet on those walks particularly if you walk forest areas and are able to kind of practice that around animals

Besides I hate to inform you but if you actually kill something while you’re out hunting you do have to take it back home

And unless you’re shooting like two birds in which case it ain’t much weight

But the way I did it was a lot of salt. Leave it for a week or two and then soaked in denatured alcohol for couple of hours it won’t be flexible, but it’s a good way to preserve the skin

And it makes it easy for display if you stretch it out and let it dry kind of like that

For the tales, they are very easy to take off if you’d rather just do the tail by itself without bothering with the whole squirrel you just start skinning the tail like you would then pull it back to a point where it kind of rolls back onto itself and then you can either pinch it really hard with thumb and four finger or use two sticks that are kind of flat

When I was shooting slingshot, there was never any penetration it was literally just energy transfer that killed so I never got any holes

But if you do get holes and you don’t like them, you can sew them shut but even on the squirrels where I shot them through the lungs with my air rifle I didn’t bother sewing the whole shut
