It looks like just aesthetic damage. I would just use clamps/grips whatever you want to call them if it's bulging out and glue it. Then I'd put wood puddy over the parts where you could see the break and when it dries remove the clamps or vice grip etc and hopefully it stays then I would paint over the wood puddy
