Soaking can be stressful for snakes, and soaking isn't what gets rid of mites unfortunately - and if thats what your sister thinks works.. 😬

It helps with sloughing off shed, but like, should really be last resort. Even if you are on paper towels, you can do like, moss bowls and pour water in them to evaporate and offput humidity
Soaking will rinse loose mites off, but then you also still have eggs and larvae to contend with - nto to mention the ones that are probably burrowed under their scales, or around their eyes and in their heat pits
