I dont like yo get involved in such debates, I picked my sony because its tiny and looks quite nicely retro. I think nikon has a nice retro look to there cameras but ive never used one

i just trying to understand. Any photographers hate Nikon or only media guys (cuz Nikon don't send them camera gear). One of my favorite wildlife photographers Morten Hilmer use Nikon and takes amazing pictures.

I think that Nikon is great - love mine.
Really need to dig it out of retirement and get back into using it

but that said

Canon is 100% just as viable

I learned to shoot on a Pentax K1000, developed my own film, printed my own photos

Moved on to my D3000 when I found a nice little sale bundle on amazon

absolutely love it.
Do I wish I had a better lens, so I'm not limited to closer shots? Yes.
Do I think I need one? I mean no, but I recognize I'm not gonna be able to get ultra close to some targets for the best photo in that regards.

Still - nice little camera, decent weight, and for my amature shots - pretty usable
