If you can find its tracks go backwards until you find a zone.

Or, if you have to find the nearest body of water and start stalking during its drink time. It’ll be more of a guessing game but you never know. Just make sure not to leave the game until you can confirm a zone for it, otherwise the tracks won’t be there and it might not path through that exact spot again.

You're good, mate. I think people probably forget the chance of finding a rare furs and diamonds (and potentially G1s?) on a brand new map is actually not super small, just because you're rolling for a brand new population file which contains like... Potentially around 2000 animals.

It's almost guaranteed you get some rare things in a new map really.

Yah. There's some servers you go on where there's like, nothing but G1s.
Singleplayer is pretty much the only gaurantee that you're playing an unmodified map.
