In my expierence. HM does help with spawning g1s. My first grind on red deer was unHMed and it was 1500 kills long. Now this grind i am on is 4300 kills and still no g1 (but also didnt claim around 1500 kills because of faster process on exterior zones)

On te awaroa my last 1000 kills had 5 g1s and 1 super rare

Same was with my fallow. After HM was done if had 3 g1 fallow in 100 kills. Then i just stopped

So it could be luck. But i doubt it. Because alot of people with very good HM grind have like sub 200 kill grinds. Which is crazy
