Is it worth unlocking Zeroing? I don't quite understand it, and a lot of the discussion I see online is quite split between "it's not worth it" and "yes" lol.

Yes, it’s worth it

Zeroing allows you to zero your gun according to the distance the animal is from you

It is by far the best skill there is in the game... so zeroing works like this: with the first level you unlock the short zeroing and with the second one the long zeroing. For example if you use any rifle you have the zeroing options 75m, 150m, and 300m... 150m is the usual standard meaning that when you hit something 150 m away from you you hit it exactly where you aim... if you zero for 300m the trajectory is altered such that you hit spot on at 300m

Alr so I've got a pretty weird situation and dont know what to do

I load into my fresh medved map and the first animal I spot is a level 9 lynx. It was fleeing since I was driving a quad to a lookout tower. I lose track of it, and sight so I try to find a zone

I found one, but the max weight track that I thought was the 9 was an 8. So now I have an 8 making tracks, and the 9 is no where to be found

What should I do?

mmmh okay so what I usually do is to place the blind directly in the middle of all the decoys because usually the geese are landing a few meters away from them and as soon as the first one landed I shoot them and it does work... maybe try different layouts of your setup.... one with the blind directly within the decoys one a few meters away and one far away (like 75-100 meters) and then you might get a positive result with one of those setups

I just like running around and hunt opportunities though... the only "grind" that I did was for a rare cape buffalo.... but if you want to hunt something specific: gemsbok are really fun (and both male and female can make diamond)... jackals can be very hard but when you get a diamond it is obviously more satisfactory.... and sprinkbok and lesser kudus make some nice trophies in your lodge 🙂 hope this does somewhat help

I usually use the mosin but then I do not take a class 2 weapon with me (so no jackals for that run - I have a grelck in my loadout and some shotgun ammo with me but of course that is not viable for long range)... you can also take the ranger.243 if you want an option for springbok and jackal but I sometimes think it takes too long for them to drop (same with the AR zarza .223)

So there are many discussions in regards to this... So if you hunt with a bow they can be really useful... With a rifle not so much

they apply on the ground, and it only affects the direction that the wind blows, if the wind is slow then it travels in a wide area, if the wind blows fast then it travels in a narrow area but has a higher range.

Ah I see... so what you can try is as only the leaves are blocking the way you can shoot through them as they do not have a hitbox

So you should be able to shoot right through the branches there and you still should be able to hit the target... it is obviously harder but not impossible... however I don't think the developers wanted to do this
