If I rest next to a need zone (example: the need zone is 00:00-04:00) if I wake up at 00:00 and sneak to that need zone will the animals be there straight away or do the animals (a herd of deer for example) start walking to that need zone at 00:00?

00:00 is when animals start migrating to the need zone. you can usually expect to see animals about 30mins to an hour after the zone starts (in-game time, not IRL time)

also one thing to note: whenever you fast-travel somewhere, any animals within a 200m radius won't spawn in. you need to get more than 200m away from said animals to get them to spawn in

they will eventually but I’d say it’s best to just run from burrow to burrow, you get more rabbits doing that than shooting a few and waiting for an unknown amount of time, sometimes they seem to come out after a few minutes, other times you’ll have fo wait much much longer

there's no set of 2 weapons that will cover all 9 classes. People use the Mississipi gun for class 1-2, For 3-4 Mosin or the zarza .223, 4-7 Zarza .308 and for the rest of the gap .300 Magnum/7MM more or less with some small variations here and there

well, there’s tons of combinations but basically, Grelck Drilling Rifle with the 9.3x74R ammunition and 16GA Birdshot, and then any weapon that covers class 2-4/2-5/2-7/2-7, so that’d be things like the .223, .243, .357, .45 colt, .45 Air Rifle Pellet, 12GA Buckshot, 420 grain arrow, 350 grain arrow and so on. Also, Grelck Drilling Rifle with the 9.3x74R ammunition and 16GA Buckshot and anything that covers class 1/1-2/1-3, so things like, .22lr, .410 Birdshot, .22H, 350 grain arrow, 300 grain arrow, 300 grain bolt and so on

Yea those are some niche setups with ammo changes and a mix and match of bows/shotguns etc. I would never suggest to a starting player do toy around with ammo changes/bows/shotguns idk

rifles are the easiest way to start learning and then toy around with builds

I think a really good starting loadout is the Grelck Drilling Rifle with the 9.3x74R rifle rounds and 16GA Birdshot and the .243 Ranger, covers all classes and does so very very well

especially since the Grelck Drilling Rifle comes with a very versatile scope too

but you don’t have to choose the bows, the Grelck with birdshot and rifle rounds and a rifle covering at least classes 2-4 will do just fine, and there is no need for the ammo changes, unless you’re too dumb to hold down the reload button

all the different ammunitions I mentioned were just some of the options, and nobody says you have to pick a bow or shotgun over a rifle in those options

which, if any player can’t be bothered with pressing a single button to chamber different ammunition, then they shouldn’t play, and it’s one of the simplest things you could learn as a beginner, not rocket science or anything

so I would 100% recommend that loadout to anyone starting the game since it’s effective on just about anything and it’s easy to use as well as you don’t have to remember which guns for which animals when you run around with 3/4 guns, some that may look slightly similar when just taking a quick glance

Is there a bug with geese in multiplayer? In singleplayer they always land when I call them. I use caller, tripod and 20 goose decoys. But in multiplayer they respond to caller and fly to us, but as they descend to land they suddenly fly up again, like they spotted us.

We tried using tripods, the waterfowl blind and also the specific goose camo-coffin blind.

iirc theyve not worked well in MP for a hot minute; they respond almost exclusively to the host, and they almost seem to be too spooky - have experienced it as well, idk if theyre still a little buggy

In singleplayer every flock will descend and land. in Multiplayer so far, out of probably 100 geese, only 4 of them landed.

So we're forced to use .22LR rifles to hunt geese cause they rarely ever land. Always get spooked and fly back up.

I’d recommend the Grelck Drilling Rifle equipped with the 9.3x74R Rifle Rounds (which type is up to you) and the 16GA Birdshot, and then the .243 Ranger with whatever ammunition you prefer, a loadout that does well on pretty much everything.

they've had them as meat chunks for quite some time now. the half-eaten deer carcass is a relatively new thing tho. the meat chunks now go to the smaller predators like fox, lynx, and coyote, while the half-eaten deer carcass goes to the larger predators like bears, wolves, etc

Polymer-Tips because I want to pierce through to the neckbone

anyone able to help me figure out the range of the dots on the crossbow scope? i see the bow has a rangefinder bow sight but the crossbow only has ones with permanent pins, unless im blind(and its hard for me to know which red dot to aim with at which distance)

the animal's difficulty rating is a solid way to gauge if an animal can make diamond. having spotting knowledge also allows you to see the animal's trophy rating estimate, which can give you a more reliable prediction of if it can be diamond or not

With antlered species, it is somewhat easier to tell what is big or not because you can look at the antlers and judge a decision based on that

i generally recommend being there about an hour or so after the zone begins. and you can use a caller to bring the animals out into the open, assuming the animal in question has a caller
