quick kill and integrity both contribute to how much cash you'll get

the point is if you're doing it for cash, then it's not really a great idea

you'll spend more in ammo and get less in return

unless you're using 243 soft of course

your stated goal was to get cash from it - you went about it the wrong way - we've been trying to point that out to you

if you want to shoot trees you can do that too

but it won't get you much cash

you could always get the 454 casul magnum (rhino) it can down 4-9 and being a handgun only takes 2lbs with scope but the hard cast can be pricey but on the other hand it only takes one round to down any lvl 9 as long as you aim well (it will pass through even a bison)

i had a bug where i was failing the check on musk deer using a bow because it hadn't registered i had changed from 600 gr arrows to 450 gr and i had to cycle weps to reset it

any to be honest - just shoot lots of stuff and you'll get there eventually. once you get the scope it gets even easier

but bigger calibres will drop them quicker to limit your tracking

noting that handgun ammo is a bit bugged imo - the expansion doesn't seem to work the same as it does for rifles - ie same expansion on rifle drops them much quicker with same vitals

but it seems the starter round on 347 cant kill level 3 or 4 animal without double vital shot

In the start, they will crawl up the animal's butt and spook them while tracking, you have to manage your dog to prevent that. There is a trait where the dog can enter a "critical position" to let you know that the animal you are tracking is nearby and has noticed you

when you just start, you don't have ammo that can kill class 8 animals (which a moose is in). You need to save to get the 270 rifle and the respective ammo to ethically take down moose. And even then it'll be several hundred meters of tracking. I'd refrain from targeting moose unless you have a direct frontal angle on one and can get a shot straight into the heart for an insta-drop. In anything other than that situation, go for smaller game.

IMO don't go for moose or any other high class animal like bears, elk, and bison until you have the 7mm (base game) or 300 (Yukon DLC)

I have a goose setup where I have the 20 decoys and almost every flock has broken before they get into sight, and when there sometimes (it’s not a very regular occurrence) is the unhuntable geese flying over the setup I use the call to try to lure them down. So you don’t really need both for it to be effective, infact leaving the call in the locker only makes you lose out on a handful flocks over a long amount of time.

Here's a tip for all players, not just new ones:
Get the recoil control perk, max it if you can. It turns the M1 Into more of a beast then it already was, and it is already a huge beast.

Oh and another:
If you just want the weapons, the best DLCs to buy (In my opinion) are: Weapon Pack 1 (.22lr), Yukon Valley Reserve (.300 Magnum), and Smoking Barrels (M1).
(I'm not including the upcoming Modern Rifle Pack because I don't know enough about it yet
