can't find the animal that i shot. i know its dead cause the hunting pressure is on the map, and there's blood stains saying i hit vital and that he's bleeding : high and that he's at 0%-25%. I'm hunting Roosevelts on Layton atm, I've had a thing happen to me a few times where I shoot the elk, I get the hunting pressure, but when I try to follow the tracks to the body, they stop producing tracks at 0-25% and seem to just vanish. I've just shot a big 4 that was GOING to be my biggest elk yet (I'm still relatively new) and it disappeared as well, I'm very unhappy, I've searched the entire area for anymore tracks or the elk, what the hell happened?

Walk up to the bear unnoticed and then fire your weapon on it at sub 40 yards, I've had them attack me very frequently this way. The closer you are the better, and a non vital shot is probably best as well. But I don't know if the damage that is done on a shot determines how aggressive the animal will be.

@ashen lodge you must be in Leysne Lands. I found a rest zone and set up a tree stand. Took several weeks to finally capture the photo. You have to be under 45 meters away from the lynx for the photo to count. Use scent eliminator and jackrabbit caller

I would have expected stuff like lodges to be base game so that to fill them effectively you need the DLC. Rather than to even get the lodge you need to buy in

it's like the sound and visibility mechanic is fine in some places on the map while they didn't bother in others

the issue seems similar to on vurhonga where basically that the same bush models provide different levels of visibility reduction depending on where you are on the map

that being said, at least hirsch doesn't appear to have the NV binocs crash bug like yukon

if you want consistent diamonds, play mostly singleplayer.

You need to understand how respawns work.

what we know now is that, when you kill an animal, 3-6 in-game days later, it will respawn as an animal of the same gender and weight estimate. So a 70-85 Kg estimate whitetail buck will respawn as another 70-85 Kg estimate whitetail buck (with a randomized fur type, too).

So the idea is to only go for male animals (some animals have female diamonds, but you can worry about those later) that fall into a weight estimate that can make diamond.

So, for whitetail (for instance), only go for bucks that give you a 70-85 Kg and 85-100 Kg estimate cause those are the only ones that can make diamond.

If you keep logging on, shooting high estimate male animals, logging off, and logging back on to do it again, you'll have diamonds in no time.

i've had both the sounds not play but be presented with a trackable call as well as the sounds play but not have anyhting trackable - i assumed it was a bug to be honest, but who knows

If you do use a tripod, you can kill like 14 or 15 without deleting, but keep it down to the 2-3 biggest for optimal respawns anyway

I’m not either, you can get the same results by just killing everything, the level that respawns is irrelevant to the level that gets shot.

the geese farm isn't working at hte moment, so it's mostly just about killing stuff

Main thing to realise early on is if you're walking, chances are they'll hear you coming before you see them

You should either be looking for decent sight lines of over 100m or finding a good bush and calling them in

Animals with the "docile" trait are more likely to respond and act upon caller sounds

Water sources

If you are scaring them away as you are walking around your chances are better at any lakes or rivers where animals drink until you become accustomed to the fleeing system

It will also help to give an idea of where most animals are located on the map

i had someone on cuatro a while back driving around on a quad ramming me as i was trying to stalk red deer and you could tell s/he had used the treestand exploit to get 80% camo because s/he was just running up to the deer shooting them
