most species that max at 5 - MEDIUM, particularly those with TruRACS support, can make it at 4 - EASY
Only one species that maxes at 9 - LEGENDARY is known to make it at 8 - MYTHICAL: the water buffalo

Right so if you are trying to stop an animal in its tracks while its running fro...
not while it is fleeing, and you can’t really do it from far away, I’ve only had whistling alert an animal at around 125m, startle call I haven’t played much with but I do know that it needs to be done relatively close range. Startle Call is pretty much for stopping an animal temporarily until you shoot, most of the time with a bow since arrows travel slower and it can be hard to shoot a moving animal with slowly traveling arrows.

yeah, thats the problem. Lions are class 9, and the 30-06 ammo is 4-8, so it fails the "Proper Ammo" harvest check, thus reducing the medal from gold to silver

Lions are class 9, the .243 is classes 2-6. Don't use soft points either. For most guns, polymer bullets are the way to go. You want to find a gun that has an ammo type that covers class 9 so you can get the harvest check for the lion to score high

my advice: find a fallow deer feed zone, then go back to it during the specified time (about halfway through the zone time would be a good idea).
slow down as you approach the zone to not spook the deer, and once you get to around 190 meters of them (gives you ten meters of buffer room), use the rattler to call them in

so for example, 0% quick kill on a whitetail scoring 265.5 will still make it score 265.5

If you have your flashlight off, yes.

If you have your light on at night yes. Depends on the time as well. If it’s almost light, they’ll be highlighted. Once it gets too dark and you don’t have your light on, then they aren’t highlighted.

Alright, first step is to go to an outpost and go to the locker/storage place. After you are in there, go to the "Inventory" tab. scroll all the way to the bottom until you see the tents you have, and put them into your inventory once you have enough space to put those in. then you assign it to a slot, and just place it down in a flat, open area that works for it

Most of them ( from memory ) specify certain areas for those missions and they have a blind there.

Id argue that If you would rather a map go for new Zeeland, 303 Is a tad stronger than the m1 (assuming you aren't caring about the muzzleloaders/10ga)
I'm not one for picking maps over weapon packs but te Is actually a quite enjoyable map versus yukon (usual suggestion for .300) In my opinion.

Brand new to the game. Not familiar with hunting or real guns. Does someone want to help me get started. I played this on Xbox a few years ago and hunting Grizzly bear at night was intense and an adrenaline rush. I just bought the game for Steam. I have the Yukon Valley DLC. Someone said I needed the DLC and night vision DLC. I also was told I need a Fawn Distress Caller and binoculars. I am firing up the game on PC here soon. Does anyone want to help me out please? Not having much luck on Facebook. Just want to set it up so I can fire up the game and hunt bear. Would someone mind helping a newbie out who knows nothing about hunting and/or about the game. depends on the area, I have some tents right at the waters edge, and some up to 100m away, the spook range of placomg a tent is about 250m and when fast traveling anything within 150m won’t render in. So place the tent at least 150m away from the place where the animals would be.

This is interesting, so the respawn never actually turns a female into a male, it just in exceedingly rare cases swaps the locations of a female with a male. Making it seem like the female respawned as a male.
