Doing singleplayer, you can make use of the respawn mechanic as far as we know them and try to weigh your odds towards diamonds with time

Multiplayer, you can be exposed to a completely new population of species every time, so you increase your chances simply by increasing the amount of animals you see

So there’s more chances to see a diamond through sheer volume of animals

Anyone know about how long it takes for a animal to respawn after its harvested? I've heard everything from 1-6 in game days. I've also read the animal will respawn in the same weight class(not necessarily difficulty level) is there any merit to this?

I've seen in vids that there are like these particals coming off the tracks vertically but mine seem to not do that? I've looked through the settings and toggled the 'particles and glow' option but it still doesn't work. Am I missing something?

at least I don't think so

Wolves, however, are excluded from the autospook and rendering thing

yeah you wouldn't want to come in on top of them. But theoretically you could chase some toward a position and teleport to it. When I have done this (usually by chance not design) the animal usually calms down and goes in some other direction anyway. Better to anticipate their natural routes of travel

so if animals were rendered in when you fast travel they won't despawn and just flee but when you are fast traveling to a tent or outpost outside of your render animals won't render in until you are at least 200 meters away from them

my game was crashing a lot so I did a clean install of graphics drivers

then I put double the amount of decoys on the ground because why not

went to the restroom, came back to four flocks of geese about to land

Depends how you look at them I guess. I'm on ps4 and they still dont come in to the decoys. I dont even bother with the caller. If you enjoy running around shooting them halfway across the lake with a rifle then I guess. I hope one day they get them to perform like geese where you can call them in. As they are the duck blind and decoys are useless and a waste of money and not fun at all. But thats just my opinion.

Hey, I've been trying this for ages with no luck, so here we go.

Tressler #3, seriouly no boar in this area. Been playing for 52 hours the last two weeks grinding this and Conni #20. I'd say atleast half of that is put towards Tressler #3. Been trying to wipe pigs from other areas, letting the game run and focusing on other animals/areas, putting hunting pressure on boar in other areas. Nothing helps and I'm sort of sick of this mission, all tho I want to complete the game 100%. Any ideas that might help?

Edit: Yes, I've been looking around Rotwald in hopes of being able to call/spook boar into the area. No luck.

I had that happening when I first started playing had a 180 class buck on Layton come out at 50 yards and somehow the 270 with Winchester super X rounds didn’t even penetrate 🤷‍♂️ beats me how a round traveling 2700 fps didn’t at-least penetrate is beyond me .. some of the people I first talked to about it said that penetration is more vital in the game which in the game when it comes to larger more aggressive animals makes sense however if you get the weapons pack 2 and use the 54R I can tell you it’s effective to about 420 or atleast as of 20 minutes ago I had two prongs run 20-30 yards each and drop

There is no growth and they're limited only by the player's proximity. Same way that a lot of games work. Instead of spawning things and being obvious... they spawn them outside the proximity of the player. Even killing the whole herd simply spawns a new one. The Dev team from Fallout described it as the "Atlas Effect" where in their games NPCs didn't spawn in unless they were outside of a certain radius and would be inert until inside a certain radius.

Fast travel spawns the character immediately which causes the render/spawn radius to make things within 200m of where you appeared not render in due to you appearing.

Level's usually a fairly solid indicator for most animals, in that 4's generally have a decent chance of making gold.

For predators and red deer, 7 and higher are usually gold

In my experience male ducks are usually guaranteed golds
