Something happened last year with srp. When PC came out, there were a lot of side missions. When consoles come out, none.
I think ew thinks it's not worth the effort, since the cc doesn't do them. Personally, I ENJOY doing missions and side missions. This is one of the ideas I would like to see a reverse on,and bring it back.
So all players who like missions. State it loud and clear on this year surva.

It was easier for them to take them out instead of fixing them.

On the Perk side, it depends what weapons you want to focus on, but there are some perks which give you bonus for all weapons. It's not a bad idea to go for those. Like Lighting Hands on the Handguns tree which improves your reload speed for all weapons. And there is of course the Zeroing on the Rifle tree which is probably the single most used active perk in the game.

My favourite is Hirshfelden because it has an amazing atmosphere. Cuattro colinas is beautiful too but to me it doesn't have enough animal diversity

Another approach is to not fret about Diamonds at all. Just hunt. Enjoy the game and take what it throws at you. If that happens to be a Diamond, great, but if not, you are hopefully still having fun roaming around, exploring, doing the missions (most of which are fun, at least on all the maps released before SRP).

on the other hand, if Diamonds are really important to you, then watch some of the herd management vids from JaxyBeard on YouTube. Essentially don't shoot the lower level males (or female rabbits and gemsbokken) and just shoot the higher level ones. Eventually a Diamond will respawn, but it takes time.

I bought the Duck Hunting DLC. Ive been trying to change location, i put all the Duck lures in the Water and i have the Waterfowl in the grass yet i haven't gotten any ducks in 2 hours on Layton Lake.

What DLC do i need for that? Cause ive tried everything '' i think '' too try and get ducks to come but no luck

Does anyone know if the effective range for ammo is glitched for rifles? .223 plymer-tip effective range is 3.00 meters and many of them don't seem very far...

Also, I'm new to the game. Does anyone know how weight limit works? What happens if you go over, are backpacks worth it because of noise/visibility?

Yes those stats are bugged, weight limit is just a hard cap of how much you can carry, each item has a certain weight to it. (Though items that stack can all be carried at once, so if you buy 1 variation of a tent for example, you can carry as many as you can buy of that specific variant)
Backpacks are only worth it if you plan on setting up spots with tripods/hunting blinds/ tree stands/decoys etc. I would advise against wearing them when you actually go out hunting as the noise penalty is just a pain in the ass to deal with.

Thanks @last hemlock. Actually bringing a tent is the only reason I would go over on weight and I kind of like the idea of having it for fun fast travel while exploring. Maybe if I carry only two weapons I can do it. I think there might be fanny packs too? lol.

Spring Creek doesn't have as many mounts, and the biggest there come short of the absolute biggest sized mounts, but it has a second floor and a different aesthetic
