Here’s the thing , u have to keep killing animals from each zone until the game respawns new ones . If you get lucky u will either get a random respawn diamond or u might find one randomly

I'm in my White-Tail grind and the way I respawn them is by changing the time back 1 hour each time then restarting. The problem is that very rarely will the deer respawn and if they do it will always come back as a small buck then, it leads to all my zones being filled with does. Anyone know a better way to respawn them or why they don't come back?

Make sure u clear all the pressure from ur whitetail zones before restarting and never leave one doe alone in the zone it will become doe only I clear pressure by killing blacktail

Takes 3-7 days sometimes for respawns to come back. They don't always come back to the zone they were killed at either. If there's consistent pressure in an area, respawns are less likely to come back there and the herd could pick up and move to another zone. Make sure you completely clear the pressure in an area, and rest it for at least a few days before you come back to re-hunt it.

It's best to find as many zones as you can so you can rotate, but yeah definitely clear your pressure off and rest a few days before you go back to a zone.
Hunting ducks and bunnies is the quickest/easiest way to clear pressure usually

If you prefer distance shooting maybe look at the .338 just a bit more penetration than .300 but is a single crack action like the 7mm. Very accurate

@vital charm have you tried doing any mission lines? Not sure what maps you have, but doing missions is a pretty quick way to earn starter cash at low levels, a lot of them are extremely quick with an atv too (speeds up travelling around the map, for some you need to kill things - which you don't want to touch the atv for)

There is a work around for the rendering problem. If you go to the spot you shot the animal and stand on top of the blood and push pu. It will give you credit for the kill. I don't know if it works on a bad shot, but it does work for a good one.

@grand moth I haven't tested the .223 specifically, but the .243 has huge reliabilty issues even on class 3 targets past 150 yards using soft points. So yeah, max reliable range is probably <150m with the .223 on class 4 targets and maybe considerably closer

conclusion: don't use .223 with soft point at all, i suggest you just stick to .243 since it can take more animals than .223 and has better power

i think that really only holds for larger calibers on longer shots where you'd only be getting single lung penetration anyways. might also be true on shorter shots where you can still say get double lung penetration on an elk with the .300 even using soft points. on the smaller caliber guns, the penetration stat is so bad on soft points, they're not worth using for anything

that's a connection issue. if your ping rate is too high, you won't be able to harvest anything. you can try a few more times, but no guarantee you'll be able to harvest it. try to find a MP server closer to you. if your internet's bad enough though you won't be able to play MP at all. i'm in that boat myself. sucks, but that's the way it is. @cunning plover

the m1 is really the only deer rifle that's easy to take down multiples with
if you're using the .30-06 or the .303 you have to try and quick-scope the second shot. make sure to release your breath right as you shoot and then re-hold it as soon as your aim comes back after shooting

i would avoid the 470. it's a one-trick pony. its rated for only class 9 animals and is only really good at short ranges (<75m)

There's water everywhere, and you can find animals basically anywhere that has water. Exact animal locations on that map tend to be pretty randomized. The big swampy area in Balmont usually has the highest concentration of drink zones though. I've written a guide on Steam if you're looking for whitetail. If you kill him? Three in-game days I believe. You can use resting to achieve that period too. I usually go four to be safe.

layton lakes is packed with dux during the whitetail drink time. pick a random body of water during that time and there's almost certainly gonna be dux there

yeah that's gonna be your biggest bottleneck. the game is very GPU-intensive
integrated graphics cards tend to not be very powerful. to run the game at least somewhat smoothly, you'd probably need a dedicated graphics card

Just like everything else try to find drink zones for them. You can find them at most of the lakes on the right 2/3 of the map at SRP. If you can't see them straight off, crouch walk in closer and hit the crow caller once in awhile. that will help you locate where they're at.

There's an outpost and 3 or 4 lakes in the northeast corner is a really good spot and the lake in the middle in sun setters i think its called. 15:00 - 16:30 they're drinking

Here’s a weird tip: if a turkey calls (mating) and you dont have the caller on you, charge it with the .22 zeroed for 50 with no scope, so when it flies at you, you can easily take it out. I got a lvl 3 turkey that way.

No, whoever was the next player to join after the server was created is now the host. Anything killed after that and any hunting pressure put on the map does not go on the original host’s map or the new host’s map.
But if the host leaves and no one else is in the server it’s gone.

There is no log* of bodies you need to harvest, but if you spotted them (try keep them spotted and highlighted as long as possible), they should appear on your map.

There's plenty of perks that are useful, but that's really the only active perk I use unless I'm bow hunting. If I'm bowhunting, sometimes I'll use the one that gauges wind direction and speed instead. How are you liking the hardcore mode hunting?

you can sit up in the stand on that lake and call in lots of red deer and sika if you do so at the right time
also dont forget to check the western coastline up from the river especially, i had a few zones there id missed

Nearly all lakes at Layton can have WT on them. The 4 big lakes on the southern 1/2 of the map always have some (at least on all 3 playthroughs I've done). The smaller lakes are completely random so kind of hit or miss. I had one playthrough where nearly every small lake had a herd, but the river was kind of empty. My latest playthrough, about half the small lakes are empty, but the river is loaded.

Depends on you, if you want to hunt grizzly bears or gray wolves pick Yukon but if you want to hunt lions or Cape buffalo pick vurhonga

And bows make less pressure even without stand so it's very useful

Level 4 pressure deletes zones inside the pressure. So with rifle without blind 4th kill will remove zones. With stand you can kill 14. With bows you can kill 14 without stand and It was something like 60 or so from a stand.
So if you want to keep your zones, use a stand or don't kill more than 3 from ground with a rifle.

Is the crossbow aiming like, bugged atm? I was using it a bunch recently and the bottom mildot doesn't seem accurate to the ranges of the chart you made, specially with the 600gr bolts
I was trying to shoot a moose in like the shoulder blade at 90m with the bottom dot and somehow landed the bolt in the back front leg

Longer distances were a bit trickier to test anyway since wind started to affect them a lot 😄 Oooo but you can test the xbow in the Hirsch range!
Normal bows you can't because the arrows hit the top of the range in long distances.

I just told the bag to take up my screen. this is just the beginning. The lights of the atv go on and off out of nowhere. When I shoot the lions, their front legs are running in the air. There are many more mistakes that I haven't counted. If you gave the importance you gave to your old hunting game to your new game, we wouldn't be talking about them right now.

The .44 is actually useful which is unusual for a handgun, but it's not great for wolves from what I remember. The .454 will put them DOWN

Yeah you are only going to hit the skull using a slug is if you aim at it buckshot spreads everywhere
