Effective range is NOT the same for all rifles. For a lot of the rifle ammunition it is 150m but not all of them. For example, the 6.5 has an effective range of 200m.

Don't use AI.
Respawns take irl about 15mins. You can also exit the game and reenter to get respawns to reset (iirc, but i could be wrong on that).
Finding all drink zones helps with locating bouncers of something doesn't respawn in a place you shot it (like solos)
Sometimes respawns just take a while. Just like sometimes animals take a while to get to their drink zones. Just shoot other things for a while or exit the game.

put down a blind at 160 m from the feeder, a tent 250m from it and you'll never have to worry about hunting pressure because you need to kill 16 at a time to deadzone

ill dm you a feeder location map, you’ll need to constantly move your feeders around overtime. shoot anything level 2-5 (unless you want to stack 5’s) and only leave 1’s, once a feeder is all 1’s move it to another area. rinse and repeat until you have diamonds popping at a rate you like (somewhat of a fast explanation)

they have a spook radius, you can't run every where, depending on skills and perks you can run up to 160m then walk, crouch and crawl the closer you get

just have to crawl further if you can get to 150 with a rifle youre zeroed

if you know what zone he's in that you are hunting you can keep trying he's not gonna vanish thats his area for that time period

Class 1 - 2: I reccomend .22mag (pump flip pack) cause its 1 and 2 or .22 virant (weapon pack 1) its only class 1, any shotgun for class 1 my favorite nordin 20g

Medium game 2 - 7: many options .243 ranger (base game) polymer rounds amazing takes a bit of
grinding, .257 frost (pump flip pack) drops animals fast, quist reaper (rapid hunt rifle pack) same as .257, my personal recommendations for any new player .308 zarsa (modern rifles) ar type rifle easy to learn and .270 huntsman (base game 12k in game) amazing rifle, 7mm malmer (hunter power pack & base game alt) the base game alt takes some getting used too one shot only the 7mm malmer is amazing takes out class 8 and 9 too.

Big game rifles 7 - 9: my personal favorite .375 (hunters choice dlc) packs a bunch drops animals takes a bit to learn recoil and perks/skills, .300 arzyna (high cal pack) amazing rifle for new players ar 15 platform and .338 tsurugi (hunter power pack) amazing rifle like all bolty's take skills/perks and learning
